Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You identify the main patterns accurately in the overview: film club remains the largest activity, table tennis rises strongly, amateur dramatics declines, and musical performances grow from zero. You also cover all five activities, so the response addresses the task. However, several figures are inaccurate or unclear: the chart shows participants, not “million”; film club ends at about 66, not 68, and amateur dramatics falls from about 26 to 6, rather than 17 to 6. Some series are only briefly described, and the account of martial arts gives its starting and ending values but not its fluctuations. Use approximate participant numbers consistently and develop the key comparisons more precisely.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, an overview, and two detail paragraphs. The overview effectively previews the main trends, and linking expressions such as “In contrast” and “Besides” help connect comparisons. However, the detail paragraphs move between activities without a fully consistent grouping, and some transitions are awkward or incomplete, as in “While amateur dramatics experienced a opposite trend.” The final paragraph also begins “And the final one,” which sounds conversational and does not create a smooth progression. Grouping rising, falling, and relatively stable series more deliberately, then using clear references and transitions, would make the organisation easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of trend vocabulary, including “remained the most popular,” “marked decline,” “fluctuated slightly,” and “gradually.” These choices communicate the broad patterns and show some flexibility. However, spelling errors such as “decrese,” “flactuation,” and “siginficant” are noticeable, while several expressions are imprecise or unnatural: “amount of people,” “marked a significant increase,” and “increased in 54 million.” Repeated use of “stood” and “increase” also limits variety. Choose accurate collocations for chart descriptions, such as “the number of participants,” “rose to,” and “reached approximately,” and proofread spelling carefully. This would make the vocabulary more precise and natural.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including the overview’s contrast between activities and the clause “which stood at 0 from 2000 to 2005.” Meaning is generally recoverable, but some grammatical errors recur. The opening phrase “the amount of people those who are took part” has faulty clause structure, and “during the time between 2000 to 2020” uses an incorrect preposition pattern. There are also problems with articles and agreement in “a opposite trend,” and tense or verb-form errors in “reach 68 million” and “had steadily increased.” Sentence fragments beginning “While” and “And” weaken control. Practise complete comparative sentences and consistent past-tense reporting, while checking articles and prepositions.
