Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the main contrast between the rising table-tennis figures and the sharp decline in amateur dramatics, and correctly note that film club finishes highest while amateur dramatics is lowest. However, some reporting is inaccurate: amateur dramatics starts at about 26, not 28, and ends at about 6, not 2; table tennis and amateur dramatics are equal at about 20 in 2010, rather than the stated 28. The overview also says film club increased significantly, although its change is modest, and table tennis—not film club—shows the strongest growth. Several series receive only brief or vague treatment, so the key trends are not fully developed. More accurate comparisons and selected figures would make the summary more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, an overview and two body paragraphs, and signposts such as “Overall,” “Firstly” and “Furthermore” help indicate stages. However, progression within the body is uneven: several activities are mentioned in quick succession without a clear comparison or supporting figures, and the final paragraph repeats the point that film club is highest and amateur dramatics lowest. Some links are awkward or unclear, particularly “after 2010 table tennis was gone on 53 percent and it was on 2 percent,” where the pronoun reference is difficult to follow. Grouping the rising, stable and declining series more deliberately, and using clearer references between sentences, would improve the flow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for describing trends, including “fluctuated,” “declined dramatically” and “increase,” and the reader can generally understand which activities you mean. However, the range is limited and several choices are inaccurate or informal for an academic graph summary. “Large boom” and “dive” are conversational, while “most common” and “least used” do not precisely describe participant numbers. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “signifigantly,” “lagre” and “teniss,” and the phrase “28 percent” incorrectly presents participant counts as percentages. Choose precise trend language, use “participants” or “numbers” consistently, and check spelling and collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a few longer sentences, including the overview’s contrast between activities, but most sentence patterns are simple and errors occur frequently. Examples include the missing article in “compares number of participants,” the incorrect verb form in “film club rise steadily,” and the faulty construction “there is large boom in it.” Tense and sentence control also break down in “table tennis was gone on 53 percent and it was on 2 percent,” making the relationship between the figures unclear. Punctuation is inconsistent, including the space before the full stop in “it .” Practise accurate past-tense reporting and build longer sentences from reliable patterns, such as “while X rose, Y fell.”
