Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the main subject and correctly note that the film club remained the most popular activity, while amateur dramatics declined. However, several important details are inaccurate or unclear: table tennis rose to about 54 participants, not 65, and musical performances began in 2010, not 2005; they reached about 18 by 2020, rather than 12. The overview also says amateur dramatics “was started after few years,” although it was present from 2000, and the claim that musical performances became less popular conflicts with their upward trend. You report some relevant figures, but the overview and comparisons need to represent the full period more accurately and distinguish the contrasting trends.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has a basic paragraph structure, with an introduction, an overview and two detail paragraphs, and it generally moves from the film club and martial arts to the other activities. However, progression within paragraphs is difficult to follow because several figures and trends are compressed into long, loosely connected sentences. For example, the film-club account shifts from 2000 to 2020 without clearly reporting 2015, while “In 2010, amateur dramatics…” is followed by table-tennis figures from 2010 and 2020 in a way that obscures the comparison. Linking is also limited and sometimes mechanical, as in repeated uses of “then” and “while.” Grouping the series by trend and using clearer time references would improve cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “decreased,” “increased,” “drastically drop” and “favoured,” so the reader can identify the general subject and direction of change. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “highest intrested activity,” “less intreasted,” and “people are unintrested.” Repetition of “peoples,” “individuals” and “intrested” also makes the description less precise. Spelling errors—including “amature,” “decresed” and “peopls”—are noticeable and sometimes slow the reader. Use standard forms such as “participants” and “popular,” and choose verbs that describe chart movement precisely, such as “rose,” “fell” and “remained stable.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, errors in sentence structure and verb forms are frequent enough to make some passages difficult to read. For example, “individuals who involved” needs a passive or active construction such as “individuals who took part,” while “most of the public are intrested to took part” combines incompatible verb forms. Agreement and tense are also inconsistent in “amature dramatics are about 25 which drastically drop,” and punctuation is missing after “social event” and around several sentence boundaries. Build more reliable sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check tense, articles and punctuation before adding further clauses.
