Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the five activities and give a broad overview that film club had the highest participation, while musical performances began at the lowest level. However, several key details are inaccurate or unclear: amateur dramatics did not remain above 25, falling from about 26 to 6, and musical performances started in 2010, not 2005. Table tennis rose sharply to around 54 by 2020, a major change that deserves clearer emphasis. The statement that amateur dramatics became the least popular is correct for the later years, but the overview does not clearly summarise the contrasting trends. To strengthen the response, report the main rises and falls accurately and support comparisons with selected figures.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and further paragraphs describing the activities. This gives the reader a basic route through the information, and sequencing words such as “Overall,” “Secondly,” and “Lastly” help signal order. However, the organisation is somewhat mechanical, and the final paragraph groups table tennis and musical performances without clearly distinguishing their different starting points and rates of growth. Some references are also difficult to follow, particularly “previously and afterwards” and “the least performed activities.” Organise the body around meaningful trends—for example, stable or fluctuating series versus rising or falling ones—and use clearer links between comparisons.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “participants,” “activities,” “rapidly increasing,” and “growth,” so the general subject is understandable. However, the range is limited and several phrases are unnatural or imprecise, such as “the most number of participants,” “was of film club,” and “having population near about 40.” Repetition of “participants” and “was having” also makes the description less fluent. There are noticeable spelling errors, including “illustates,” “paticipants,” and “perfomance,” which reduce accuracy. Build a more precise set of trend and comparison expressions, and check spelling and collocations when editing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response includes a few longer sentence attempts, such as the overview and the final sentence, but most structures are simple or are joined in ways that make the relationships unclear. Errors occur in basic sentence patterns: “The maximum of number of participants was of film club” and “the martial arts was the having population” are not grammatically well formed. There are also problems with articles, agreement, and verb patterns, as in “the least performed activities” and “which was having the growth.” These errors sometimes make the intended meaning harder to interpret. Practise clear comparative sentences and accurate past-tense descriptions, then check each sentence for a complete subject and verb.
