Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify several important patterns: table tennis rises strongly, amateur dramatics declines, and film-club numbers remain comparatively high. The overview also recognises that martial arts fluctuates. However, some key details are inaccurate or unclear. Table tennis rises from about 20 participants in 2010—not 10–15—to roughly 54 in 2020. Musical performances began in 2010, rather than 2005, and amateur dramatics fell from about 26 in 2000, not over 30. The claim that film club and martial arts were both stable is broad; film club changes little overall, while martial arts fluctuates around the mid-30s. More precise comparisons and accurate starting points would make the main features clearer and better supported.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, an overview and paragraphs describing the activities. This helps the reader follow the general account, and linking phrases such as “Overall,” “In addition” and “Meanwhile” signal relationships between ideas. However, progression within the detail paragraphs is sometimes loose: several activities are grouped together without a clear comparison, and “There is only one massive drop” does not clearly connect the amateur-dramatics trend to the preceding discussion. Some transitions are mechanical or awkward, particularly “Conciseley” (intended as “concisely”) before the martial-arts point. Organise the details into clearer groups—for example, rising trends versus declining or fluctuating ones—and use references that make each comparison explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a reasonable range of trend language, including “drastic upward trend,” “dipped,” “up and down trend” and “constantly … increasing.” These choices make the broad direction of change understandable. However, some expressions are imprecise or unnatural for describing a graph: “certain amount of people,” “massive jump from 2010 from 10 to 15,” and “stable amount of participants” do not express the data clearly. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “gragh” and “Autsralia,” and “Conciseley” is not the appropriate form. Prefer precise terms such as “number of participants,” “rose sharply,” and “fluctuated,” and check spelling and collocations before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a mixture of simple statements and longer sentences, including clauses introduced by “whereas” and “then.” However, control is inconsistent, and several sentence structures are incomplete or awkward. For example, “There is only one massive drop is shown” combines two competing structures; write either “Only one major drop is shown” or “There is only one major drop.” In “from the year 2010 whereas, The number…,” the punctuation and clause connection are faulty, while “Martial arts had a up and down trend” shows an article error. Capitalisation after commas is also inconsistent. Practise forming complete, clearly joined clauses and check articles, punctuation and sentence boundaries; this will make your comparisons easier to understand.
