Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify several relevant features, including the film club’s high participation, the rise in table tennis, and the decline in amateur dramatics. However, the overview is not consistently accurate: film club did not remain unchanged, as it dipped from about 64 to 60 before rising to 66, and musical performances were not the lowest throughout the period because they rose while amateur dramatics fell to around 6 by 2020. Some figures are also misreported, such as saying film club ended at 64 and table tennis rose suddenly in 2010; its major increase occurred after 2010. The final comparison is unfinished (“Opposite goes with Amatrut”), leaving a key trend unexplained. Select the main changes accurately and complete the account of all series.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs that group activities into contrasting patterns. This gives the reader some sense of organisation. However, progression is weakened by unclear or inaccurate links, including “On the onehand” and “On the otherhand,” and by repeated use of “Where as” and “Likewise.” The final sentence breaks off at “Opposite goes with Amatrut,” so the discussion does not reach a complete conclusion. Some references are also difficult to follow, such as “games which was at its lowest.” Use clear paragraph links, refer to each activity by name, and ensure each paragraph develops a complete comparison.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “participants,” “increased,” “stable,” and “variation,” so the reader can identify the general subject and trends. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning difficult to interpret. For example, “same proportion” is unsuitable for participant numbers, “maximum upto 18 in number” is awkward, and “players” does not fit all the activities. There are also noticeable spelling errors, such as “paticipants,” “veriety,” “slighly,” and “Amatrut.” Aim for precise chart language such as “the figure,” “rose to,” and “declined to,” and check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, and the response generally communicates that several activities changed over time. However, grammatical errors are frequent, and some sentence structures are difficult to understand. Examples include “Film club participants remain unchanged,” where the subject and verb do not agree, and “it intially it was as 35,” which has faulty word order and an incomplete construction. The overview also contains a sentence fragment beginning “where as,” while “games which was at its lowest” has an agreement error. Tense use is inconsistent when describing past data, and the final sentence is incomplete. Practise complete past-tense sentences, subject–verb agreement, and punctuation, then proofread each sentence for a clear subject and verb.
