Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You identify the main overall movements: table tennis and musical performances rise, amateur dramatics declines, and film club remains the largest activity. Several figures are also broadly accurate, including film club at about 64 in 2000 and amateur dramatics falling from around 26 to roughly 5–6. This gives the response a relevant overview and covers the main series. However, some details are incomplete or imprecise: musical performances begin at zero in 2000, not 2005, and table tennis rises sharply from about 20 in 2010 to 54 in 2020, a key comparison that could be stated more clearly. The film-club description also misses its recovery after 2010. More precise coverage of these stages would make the summary more fully developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a coherent overall arrangement: it opens by introducing the graph, gives a broad summary, and then discusses the activities in groups. Linking expressions such as “Similarly,” “While,” and “Additionally” help show relationships between trends. However, the repeated openings “Closer examination,” “Further examination,” and “More in-depth analysis” make the progression feel somewhat mechanical rather than guiding the reader through the data. Some connections are also unclear, particularly “table tennis had 15 participants in 2000 and there was slight rise in a decade then from 2010 to 2020 they increased drastically,” where the subject of “they” is not immediately clear. Organising the body around rising, falling, and relatively stable series, with clearer references, would improve cohesion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a reasonable range of task-related vocabulary, including “noticeable increase,” “dramatic decline,” “slight variations,” and “highest number.” These choices communicate the main trends, and the meaning is generally clear. However, some wording is repetitive or imprecise: “Further examination” and “More in-depth analysis” repeat the same framing, while “remained almost same” is not a natural collocation. There are also several spelling errors, including “activties,” “Autralia,” “continous,” “perticipants,” and “decrese,” which reduce the accuracy of the vocabulary. Aim for precise trend language and check spelling carefully; for example, distinguish a gradual rise from a sharp increase rather than relying repeatedly on “dramatic.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

You attempt a mix of sentence forms, including clauses linked with “while” and “after,” and most of the data descriptions remain understandable. Some grammatical errors are present, but they rarely prevent the reader from following the trends. For example, “there was slight rise” needs an article, and “remained almost same” is missing “the.” The sentence beginning “table tennis had 15 participants…” also shifts awkwardly from singular “table tennis” to “they,” making the reference unclear. Punctuation and spacing need attention, especially the missing spaces after commas and full stops in “Melbourne,Autralia” and “drastically.While.” Use complete, clearly punctuated sentences and check articles, pronoun references, and agreement.
