Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You identify the main overall pattern: film club remains the most popular activity, table tennis rises markedly, and amateur dramatics declines. The response also covers all five activities and includes relevant comparisons, which makes the summary informative. However, some figures and descriptions are inaccurate: martial arts starts at about 36, not 38, and ends at about 36, rather than 39; amateur dramatics begins near 26, not 28; and table tennis reaches about 54 in 2020, rather than 51. The overview also calls musical performances the lowest without clarifying that this is true only at the beginning; by 2020 amateur dramatics is lowest. More precise reporting of these changes would make the key features clearer and better supported.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs describing the activities. Grouping film club and martial arts before discussing the declining and rising series helps the reader follow the data. Some links between ideas are less effective, however. For example, “Although the number dipped around 60 in 2010 and it gradually rose” is not a complete contrast structure, and “Whereas” begins a fragment at the end. The overview’s “While others experienced a decline” is also detached from the preceding sentence. Use complete sentences and connect comparisons more directly; this would make the progression smoother and reduce the occasional mechanical or unclear cohesion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant chart vocabulary, including “fluctuation,” “considerable decline,” “dipped,” and “rose,” and these choices help communicate changes over time. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, including “partocipate,” “actvities,” “signifiacnt,” and “approximetaly.” Some expressions are also unnatural or imprecise: “boosted” does not describe a participant total, and “peak position” is less suitable than a direct description of the highest figure. The repeated use of “participant” and “number of participant” also limits range and accuracy. Aim for precise collocations such as “stood at,” “the figure for,” and “increased to,” while checking spelling and plural forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

There is some variety in sentence forms, including contrast clauses with “Although” and “though,” and most of the intended comparisons can be understood. However, several sentences contain grammatical problems that make the relationships less clear. “Although the number dipped around 60 in 2010 and it gradually rose” combines an although-clause with an independent clause incorrectly; “While others experienced a decline” is also incomplete. There are recurring issues with articles, plurals, and agreement, as in “64 participant” and “the number … is around 38” when describing past data. Use past-tense forms consistently and check that each subordinate clause is attached to a complete main clause. More accurate sentence construction would strengthen the range already attempted.
