Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify several important overall patterns: the film club remains the leading activity, table tennis rises strongly, and amateur dramatics declines. However, some key figures are inaccurate or unclear. Most seriously, the film-club figure is said to rise to “about 3” in 2020, although it is approximately 66; martial arts begins at “around 376,” rather than about 36. The account also omits the film club’s actual slight dip and recovery, and gives only a limited comparison of the series. Your overview is relevant, but the inaccurate details and incomplete reporting mean the main features are only partly conveyed. Check each plotted value carefully and describe the major changes across the full period.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and paragraphs describing the figures. The overview groups the main trends effectively, and transitions such as “After that” and “finally” help signal sequence. However, progression within the detail is uneven: the film-club and martial-arts figures are combined, then table tennis and amateur dramatics are paired, without a consistent comparison or clear rationale. Some links are also awkward, as in “it goes to somwhere 31,” and the final paragraph feels appended rather than integrated. Use paragraphs organised around clear comparisons, and connect each figure to its trend with precise references so the reader can follow the account more smoothly.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some suitable task vocabulary, including “participants,” “fluctuated,” “upward trend,” “declined,” and “increased sharply.” These choices help communicate the broad patterns. However, the range is limited and several spelling or word-choice errors are noticeable, including “remaind,” “table tennid,” “icreased,” “constrast,” and “musicalpermonance.” Phrases such as “it goes to somwhere 31” are also imprecise and do not describe a trend naturally. Aim for accurate, concise expressions such as “fell to approximately 32” or “rose to around 36.” Proofreading spelling and using standard collocations for describing figures would make the information easier to understand.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, and the overview uses a useful range of clauses to compare trends. However, errors occur frequently and sometimes make the data difficult to interpret. For example, “This figure slightly decrease” has an incorrect verb form, while “it goes to somwhere 31” shifts tense and lacks a clear grammatical structure. Capitalisation and sentence boundaries are also inconsistent, as in “2000. it goes” and “finally musical…” Articles are sometimes missing, as in “making it most popular activity.” Use the past tense consistently for the historical period, check subject–verb agreement, and review articles and punctuation. Short, accurate sentences are preferable when reporting individual values.
