Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the chart’s subject and give an overview that correctly notes the film club’s leading position and the decline in amateur dramatics. However, several key details are inaccurate or unclear, which limits how fully the main features are reported. Film club rises only from 60 in 2010 to about 66 in 2020, not to 70, and martial arts fluctuates around the mid-30s rather than climbing from 38 to 40. Table tennis begins at about 16, not 27, and its strong rise to 54 is more than moderate. Musical performances began in 2010, not 2005. Report the main trends accurately and compare the series more explicitly, especially the sharp growth in table tennis.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and two detail paragraphs. Phrases such as “Looking at the details” and “Turnin to remaining data” signal a shift between sections, and the reader can generally follow the order of discussion. However, the grouping in the final paragraph is not fully effective: it introduces three activities together, then gives uneven and sometimes confusing descriptions of each. Some links are also imprecise, as in “A similar trajectory” for martial arts, whose pattern does not match the film club’s. Use clearer comparisons and organise the details by meaningful trends—for example, the declining series and the activities that increased—to create more consistent progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a reasonable range of chart vocabulary, including “declined,” “trajectory,” “figures,” and “reached,” and these choices help communicate changes over time. However, inaccurate word choice and spelling errors are noticeable and sometimes make the description less precise. “Significant upwork trend” is not a natural expression for an increase, while “sharp peak” does not accurately describe a gradual rise. There are also misspellings such as “dramtics,” “cenre,” “begain,” and “participents.” Aim for accurate, conventional language for trends and check spelling carefully. More precise terms such as “rose steadily,” “fluctuated,” and “fell sharply” would make the comparisons clearer.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and more complex sentences, including clauses with “whereas” and “which,” and most of the overall meaning remains understandable. However, some grammatical errors affect clarity and control. For example, “film club started at 64 … and then decline to 60” needs consistent past-tense forms, and “it eventually grew moderately to reach at 55” has an incorrect verb pattern. The sentence “Musical performances activity sharp peak” is missing a finite verb, making the trend difficult to understand. There are also issues with articles and sentence punctuation, including the lowercase start “overall.” Practise accurate past-tense reporting and complete sentence structures while retaining your attempts at varied clauses.
