Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify all five activities and capture several important patterns: film club remains the most popular, amateur dramatics declines, and table tennis and musical performances rise. However, some descriptions are inaccurate or too vague to report the data reliably. For example, table tennis rises steadily from 16 to 20 by 2010, then climbs to 54 by 2020; it does not shoot up “in 2010.” Musical performances begin in 2010, rather than gaining popularity from 2005. The overview also says film-club participation “sharply increases” from 2015 to 2020, although the rise is modest. Include a few accurate figures and distinguish the main trends more precisely to make the summary fuller and clearer.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has an opening and then discusses the activities in separate sentences, so the reader can generally follow which series is being described. However, the overall progression is limited: the overview repeats that participants were engaged in the activities without summarising the strongest contrasts, and the body moves through the series without grouping related trends. Some linking expressions are awkward or unclear, such as “There is fascinating fact” and “but again,” while “Amateur being at number third” makes the relationship between the activity and its ranking difficult to follow. Organise the response into a concise overview followed by logically grouped comparisons, and use clear references and transitions rather than relying on repeated “the number” phrasing.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt a range of vocabulary, including “slight variation,” “engagement,” “increament,” and “exponential high,” but several choices are inaccurate, misspelled, or unnatural for describing a graph. Phrases such as “participants performance at an event” and “engagement varies like a sine wave” do not express the intended information clearly. “Exponential high” is also not an appropriate description of the sharp rise in table-tennis participation. Spelling errors such as “actvities,” “Austarlia,” and “ineterst” are noticeable and reduce precision. Use standard trend language consistently—for example, “the figure for,” “fluctuated,” “rose sharply,” and “fell steadily”—and check spelling and collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response includes both simple statements and attempts at longer sentences, but grammatical control is uneven, and errors sometimes make the meaning difficult to interpret. Examples include “the participants ineterst remain at the top,” where the subject and verb do not agree, and “Martial arts is being the second,” which has an incorrect verb construction. The sentence beginning “There is a lack in interest” also uses an awkward grammatical pattern, while “from the year 2005 it also gets some popularity” shifts tense and has unclear reference. Aim for accurate past-tense reporting throughout, with clear subjects and verbs, such as “Participation in martial arts fluctuated” and “No participants took part in musical performances until 2010.”
