Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You identify the main overall changes: table tennis rises sharply, amateur dramatics declines, and film-club attendance remains comparatively high. The overview also notes that table tennis overtakes martial arts, which is supported by the figures by 2020. However, some details are inaccurate or incomplete. Martial arts does not remain the same throughout; it fluctuates between about 32 and 38. Musical performances begin at zero in 2000, not 2005, and reach about 18 in 2020 rather than 20. The comparison that table tennis crosses amateur dramatics “from 20” is unclear, and the key crossover with martial arts is not described in the body. More precise reporting of these changes would make the response more fully developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, an overview, and two paragraphs describing the series. Grouping film club and martial arts before discussing table tennis and amateur dramatics gives the reader a workable route through the data. However, progression within sentences is sometimes awkward or unclear. For example, “2010 onwards it grew dramatically and cross the number of participants in amateur dramatics from 20 to around 52 - 55” does not clearly explain which figures belong to which activity. Linking phrases such as “Although” are also used as sentence openings without a complete contrasting clause, and “On the other hand” does not introduce a clear contrast. Use more precise references and connect each comparison directly to its data.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a reasonable range of trend vocabulary, including “grew significantly,” “decrease,” “gradually,” and “dramatically,” which helps communicate the broad patterns. Some choices, however, are inaccurate or repetitive: “collapsed” and “crashed” both describe the decline in amateur dramatics, while “remains same” is not a natural way to describe a fluctuating series. There are also spelling errors in “activites,” “amature,” and “indivisual,” and “individuals participate” is an awkward phrase. Prefer precise, conventional chart language and check spelling carefully. For example, describe the amateur-dramatics figure as declining steadily after 2005, and use “participants” consistently rather than switching between “people,” “individuals,” and “players.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, and the main trends are generally understandable. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly in verb forms, agreement, and sentence construction. The opening phrase “individuals participate” needs a relative clause or a noun phrase, while “grew significantly and surpass” mixes tenses; “surpassed” would match the past-time account. “The number … remains same” also needs past-tense agreement and an article, and the sentence beginning “Although the number…” is incomplete because it lacks a main clause. There are further errors in “from their onwards” and “cross the number.” Use consistent past tense for the period and check that each sentence has a complete main clause. These corrections would improve accuracy without sacrificing sentence variety.
