Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You cover all five activities and identify the main patterns: film club remains the most popular, amateur dramatics declines, and table tennis rises strongly. Your overview is relevant, and several figures are close to the chart, including film club at about 60 in 2010 and table tennis at roughly 55 in 2020. This meets the task well, with some features reported more fully than others. However, there are a few inaccuracies: musical performances begin in 2010, not 2005, and table tennis overtakes martial arts in 2015 at about 36, rather than 32. The claim that table tennis crosses amateur dramatics by 2010 is also unclear, as both are around 20 then. More precise comparisons would strengthen the account.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has an identifiable overview followed by details, and grouping film club and martial arts before discussing table tennis and amateur dramatics gives the reader some structure. However, progression is not consistently clear: the overview is followed by several details in one paragraph, and the final paragraph returns to amateur dramatics after discussing table tennis. Some linking is mechanical or awkward, particularly “Moreover” and “On the other hand,” which do not always express the relationship between the information. The sentence beginning “While film club…” is also left as a fragment. Use separate, purposeful paragraphs for the overview and the main comparisons, and connect trends with clearer references such as “By contrast” or “Meanwhile.”

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of task-related vocabulary, including “fluctuate,” “gradually,” “reduction,” and “overtake,” and the reader can generally understand the trends you describe. However, noticeable spelling and word-choice problems reduce precision: “deceades,” “sarted,” “dominate,” and “enhacement” are inaccurate, while “65 attendance” and “20 numbers” are unnatural collocations. “Major declined” also uses the wrong form and does not express the trend naturally. Aim for accurate, conventional chart language rather than forcing less familiar terms. For example, describe participant numbers as “stood at,” “fell to,” or “increased to,” and use “participants” or “people” instead of “numbers” when referring to attendees.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “However” and “While,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. Nevertheless, errors occur across sentence structures and verb forms, and some sentences are incomplete or difficult to follow. “The participants of film club remained dominate” lacks a correct complement, while “the major declined occured” has faulty grammatical construction. “While film club shows…” is a dependent clause without a main clause, and “table tennis … rise with 20 numbers … with crossed over” does not form a clear, accurate sentence. Check subject–verb agreement, tense consistency when describing past data, and complete each subordinate clause. More reliable sentence patterns would improve accuracy without sacrificing variety.
