Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify several important patterns: the film club remains among the most popular activities, amateur dramatics declines, and table tennis rises substantially. However, some key details are inaccurate or unclear. The film club does not increase steadily; it falls from about 64 to 60 before recovering to 66. Table tennis rises sharply from 2010, not “from 2020,” and musical performances begin in 2010 rather than 2005. The overview also says there are “five different number of participants,” which does not clearly summarise the main features. To strengthen the report, give a concise overview of the contrasting trends and support it with accurate start and end figures. Avoid unsupported speculation such as the decline being “fashioned.”

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has an introduction, an overview, and a further paragraph describing trends, so there is some basic organisation. However, progression is limited because the overview and body repeat the same points—for example, the decline in amateur dramatics and the rise in table tennis are stated more than once. Linking words such as “Therefore,” “Moreover,” and “Furthermore” are used mechanically and do not always show a clear relationship between ideas. The sentence “There is a sharp increase in Table tennis from 2020” also interrupts the overview and conflicts with the later time reference. Group the activities by trend, use clear comparisons, and make each paragraph serve a distinct purpose.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “participants,” “decline,” “sharp increase,” and “fluctuations,” which helps communicate the general subject. However, the range is limited and several expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “gives knowledge on,” “different tasks,” and “fashioned.” Repetition of “overall trend” and “number of participants” also makes the report less precise. Choose vocabulary that describes chart data directly, and use activity names consistently. For example, “attendance” or “participant numbers” can replace repeated wording, while “rose markedly” and “fell steadily” can distinguish different patterns. Avoid adding words such as “fashioned” when they do not convey a clear, evidence-based meaning.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response includes simple sentences and some attempts to connect ideas, but grammatical control is inconsistent, and errors occur in many sentences. Examples include “Film club has large number” (missing an article), “has a slightly increase” (incorrect adjective form), and “Musical performances has” (subject–verb disagreement). The opening phrase “on social center” also has an article error, and several sentences lack punctuation that would clarify the relationships between clauses. These problems sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, and adjective forms, then check each sentence for a clear subject and verb. A wider range of sentence structures will help once these basic patterns are more reliable.
