Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You identify the chart’s subject and mention several relevant activities, including the film club, table tennis, amateur dramatics and musical performances. However, the overview is unclear: calling the film club and table tennis the activities with the “highest number” does not explain that the film club remained highest throughout, while table tennis rose sharply to become second by 2020. Some details are inaccurate or too vague. For example, table tennis was stable from 2005 to 2010, then increased from 20 to 54 between 2010 and 2020; the response instead says its rise occurred “during the 2010 to 2020” without giving a clear comparison. The martial arts figures are also described as percentages. Select the main trends and report them accurately with approximate participant numbers.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has an introduction followed by an overview and two detail paragraphs, so there is an attempt to group information by activity. However, the progression within paragraphs is difficult to follow, and the overview does not clearly guide the reader through the main features. Linking phrases such as “Getting back to the details,” “In addition,” and “As compare to” are repetitive or used awkwardly, sometimes making the relationship between trends unclear. The final paragraph ends abruptly after “in 15,” leaving the musical-performances comparison incomplete. Organise the details into clear comparisons—for example, steady film-club and martial-arts figures versus the contrasting trends in table tennis and amateur dramatics—and use time markers consistently.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some relevant chart vocabulary, including “declined,” “rose,” “stable,” and “dipped,” and the activity names help keep the response on topic. However, the range is basic and several word choices or collocations make the meaning unclear: “number of contestant,” “rose participant number,” and “higest escalated” are not natural ways to describe the data. There are also frequent spelling errors, such as “depics,” “diffrent,” “detials,” and “continuesly,” which reduce clarity. Use precise terms such as “participants,” “increased,” and “remained stable,” and check spelling carefully. Avoid using “%” unless the chart actually reports percentages; here it shows numbers of people.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts to connect ideas in longer sentences, but grammatical control is limited and errors frequently make relationships between figures difficult to understand. For example, “Film cub activity was 65 participant in 2000 then declined in 2% continuesly in 2010” has problems with articles, plural forms, verb construction and sentence punctuation. The sentence beginning “As compare to martial arts” is also incomplete or awkwardly joined to the preceding information. Capitalisation and full stops are inconsistent, including the run-on transition “2020.as compare.” Build clearer sentences with a subject and verb for each trend, use past-tense forms consistently, and check singular/plural agreement: “The film club had about 65 participants in 2000, before falling slightly by 2010.”
