Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You identify the main overall patterns: the film club remains the largest activity, table tennis rises substantially, musical performances grow from zero, and amateur dramatics declines. These are relevant features and give the response a clear overview. However, some details are inaccurate or insufficiently developed. Film club falls to about 60 in 2010, not 62, and finishes at roughly 66 rather than 68. Table tennis rises from around 20 in 2010 to about 54 in 2020, not 60. The account also omits the relatively stable martial arts figures, an important comparison, and gives only a narrow period for amateur dramatics. More precise comparisons across the full timeline would make the summary more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and paragraphs describing increases and declines. This makes the main message reasonably easy to follow. Linking expressions such as “Overall,” “Moreover,” and “In contrast” help signal relationships between trends. However, the progression is sometimes mechanical, with “Moreover” repeated, and the final paragraph begins “Whereas” without completing a contrasting clause. Some references are also unclear: “which increased the participants” does not clearly identify the change, and the discussion shifts between activities without consistently grouping comparable trends. Organise the details into clearer groups—for example, stable/high figures and rising or falling activities—and use more precise links between comparisons.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of trend vocabulary, including “fluctuations,” “significant increase,” “decline,” “dropped,” and “recovers,” so the reader can understand the main changes. Some choices, however, are inaccurate or unnatural for describing a graph. “Rise from the scratch” is not idiomatic; “rise from zero” is appropriate. “Partners” appears to be the wrong word for participants, and “gained huge participants” is an awkward collocation. There are also inconsistent forms such as “Film Club” and “film club,” and “through out” should be written as one word. Aim for precise, natural phrases such as “the number of participants increased” and “remained relatively stable” rather than relying on broad expressions like “huge.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including contrastive structures such as “although” and “Whereas,” and most of the trends remain understandable. Some grammatical errors recur, particularly with agreement, articles, and verb forms. For example, “at social centre” needs an article, “some activities has” should use a plural verb, and “it has drop” should be “it dropped” or “it has dropped.” In “it recovers and rise,” the verbs do not agree in form. There are also awkward sentence constructions, such as the unfinished contrast beginning “Whereas.” Use consistent past-tense reporting for the historical period, check subject–verb agreement, and make sure each contrastive clause forms a complete sentence.
