Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify the five activities and report the main contrasting trends: table-tennis participation rises markedly, amateur dramatics declines, and film club and martial arts remain broadly stable. The figures for table tennis (about 17 to 55) and amateur dramatics (26 to 6) are close to the chart, and you note musical performances’ eventual rise. However, some details are unclear or inaccurate: table tennis was not the largest activity every year, since film club had more participants until 2015, and musical performances began in 2010, not 2005. Calling film club and martial arts “equal” also overstates their stability; both fluctuate slightly. A clearer overview and more precise comparisons would make the key features more fully developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, moving from an introduction to trend descriptions and a concluding summary. Grouping the rising activities and the declining or stable ones gives the reader a basic route through the information. However, progression within the body is sometimes difficult to follow: “The large number of participants in table tennis every year” is unclear, and the repeated “The activity…” and “The number…” openings make the account feel list-like. Some linking is also mechanical, particularly the repeated use of “at the last year.” Organise the body into clearer comparisons, use time markers such as “by 2010” and “thereafter,” and make references explicit so each trend connects smoothly to the next.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant chart vocabulary, including “participants,” “increased,” “decreased,” and “stable,” so the reader can generally understand the trends being described. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are noticeably inaccurate, such as “the ratio of participants,” “second lower increased,” and “fall down.” The spelling of activity names is also inconsistent, including “amerature” and “matial.” These issues sometimes make the intended meaning less clear, even though the main trends can be recovered. Build a more precise set of trend expressions and check spelling carefully; for example, use “number of participants,” “the next-largest increase,” and “declined steadily.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response communicates its general meaning through mostly simple sentences and some attempts to combine ideas, but the range of sentence structures is limited and errors recur. For example, “The line graph illustrate” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “The second lower increased than table tennis was musical performances” is difficult to parse because the comparison is not formed correctly. In “the number of participants reached about 55,” the sentence is clearer, but other clauses omit necessary words, as in “at the last year the number of reached to 6.” Use complete, controlled sentences and practise accurate past-tense reporting, agreement, articles, and comparative structures. This would improve clarity without requiring unnecessarily complex grammar.
