Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You cover all five activities and identify the main patterns: film club remains the largest, amateur dramatics declines to the lowest level, and table tennis rises strongly. Several figures are close to the chart, including table tennis reaching about 55 and musical performances starting at zero. However, the overview says film club “ended up by remain unchanged,” although it rises slightly overall, from about 64 to 66. The account of its changes is also inaccurate: it falls to around 60 in 2010 before recovering, rather than gaining five participants at each stated stage. Some comparisons are useful, such as table tennis matching amateur dramatics in 2010, but other details are less clearly reported. A more precise overview and accurate description of key stages would strengthen the response.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, an overview, and paragraphs describing the activities. The sequence from film club and martial arts to amateur dramatics, table tennis, and musical performances makes the information easy to follow. You also use linking expressions such as “Overall,” “Furthermore,” and “Whilst” to connect points. At times, however, these links feel mechanical or do not express the relationship accurately; “nevertheless” before the final table-tennis comparison is not a natural contrast. The long table-tennis sentence combines several years and comparisons, making the progression harder to track. Use shorter sentences for the main changes and group related trends more consistently to make cohesion smoother.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a range of vocabulary related to trends, including “fluctuation,” “decline,” “climbed,” and “nadir,” and the activity names are generally clear. However, several choices are unnatural or imprecise for describing a graph: “joinees,” “got a surge,” “grabbed,” and “contestants” do not fit this context well. There are also noticeable spelling and word-form errors, including “prformances,” “suddent,” “acheived,” and “memers.” Phrases such as “accounts the highest number” and “got popularity” show difficulty with collocation. Prefer standard, precise reporting language and check spelling; this will make your descriptions more fluent and reduce the effort required to interpret them.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mixture of simple and complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “while,” “which,” and “but,” and your meaning is generally recoverable. However, errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction occur across the response. For example, “the amateur dramatics club got sharply declined” has an incorrect verb pattern, while “it is also remained” combines incompatible forms. “Film club accounts the highest number” is missing a grammatical element, and “a increase” has an article error. Some long sentences, particularly the table-tennis description, also make relationships between clauses difficult to follow. Practise accurate patterns such as “the number of participants rose/fell” and review articles and tense consistency while retaining your attempts at complex sentences.
