Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the main contrast between the consistently high film-club figures and the strong rise in table tennis, and you note the decline in amateur dramatics. However, some key details are inaccurate or unclear: film-club participation ends at about 66, not 70; table tennis reaches roughly 54, rather than 50; and musical performances are not the least popular throughout, since they rise from zero to around 18 and finish above amateur dramatics. The overview also calls musical performances the least popular without specifying that this applies only at the start. The response covers the main activities, but the misreported figures and incomplete comparison limit how fully it summarises the graph. Check each endpoint and make the overview reflect the final rankings.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and two paragraphs describing the data. This gives the reader a basic route through the information, and contrasts such as “by contrast” help signal comparisons. However, progression within the body paragraphs is uneven: the first combines film club and table tennis, while the second moves through three other activities without a clear organising principle. Several linking expressions are inaccurate or awkward, including “Further more regarding the remain activities,” and “after DAD” interrupts the table-tennis description. Some references, such as “one decline, another one increased,” are not sufficiently clear. Grouping the rising, falling and relatively stable trends more deliberately, and using precise transitions, would make the account easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt a range of trend vocabulary, including “slightly decrease,” “dramatic growth,” “overtaking,” “downward trend” and “fluctuate.” These choices show awareness of the language needed to describe a line graph. However, inaccurate word forms, spelling and collocations are frequent enough to make parts of the report difficult to interpret. Examples include “a matured dramatic,” “midley,” “a matter, dramatics,” and “remain the list activity”; “after DAD” also appears to be an unintended or unsuitable phrase. Expressions such as “most famous activity” are not precise for participant numbers. Use standard activity names consistently and choose direct terms such as “most popular,” “declined,” “rose” and “remained the lowest.” Proofreading spelling and collocation would improve clarity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use both simple statements and some longer structures, for example the contrast in “Tennis by contrast started … after … its figure experience dramatic growth.” However, attempts to combine several stages in one sentence often lead to faulty grammar, and many sentences contain errors in agreement, tense, articles or sentence construction. Examples include “The given line graph compare,” “musical performance are,” and “film club … slightly decrease … and reach.” The overview sentence beginning “A matured dramatic and table tennis show” is also difficult to parse. Punctuation is inconsistent, including the space before the comma in “observed that ,”. Practise writing shorter, complete sentences with consistent past-tense verbs, then add subordinate clauses only when their grammar is secure.
