Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You cover all five activities and identify several important overall patterns: film club remains among the most popular, amateur dramatics declines, and table tennis rises sharply. The endpoint comparisons are generally close to the chart, including musical performances starting at zero and reaching about 20. However, the overview contains a major misreading: table tennis does not remain stable; it climbs from about 16 to 54, becoming the second-largest activity by 2020. The description also focuses mainly on 2000 and 2020, leaving the fluctuations in film club and martial arts, and the timing of table tennis’s growth, under-developed. A more accurate overview and a few key intermediate figures would make the main features clearer.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and a body that moves through the activities. This gives the reader a basic route through the information. However, the organisation is largely a repeated list, with each activity introduced in turn rather than grouped to highlight meaningful comparisons or trends. The overview’s claim that table tennis is stable also conflicts with its later description of a sharp rise, weakening the progression of ideas. Linking phrases such as “the second activity” and “the last activity” are repetitive and do little to show relationships between series. Grouping the declining and rising activities, and using clearer comparisons, would improve cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some relevant chart vocabulary, including “participants,” “increased,” “stable,” and “rose up,” so the topic is usually understandable. However, the range is basic and repetitive, and several word combinations are unnatural or unclear, such as “his number of activity,” “very rose up,” and “high number of participants activity.” Repeating “activity” and “number” also makes the account less precise. Use standard trend language and accurate nouns—for example, describe participant numbers as rising, falling, remaining stable, or reaching a figure. Take care with word forms and spelling as well, including “Over all,” which should be “Overall.” More varied, natural collocations would make the report easier to read.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, and the reader can generally follow the intended comparisons. However, grammatical control is weak in many sentences. The opening has subject–verb disagreement (“The Line graph illustrate”), while “the amateur dramatics and musical performances has” also has an agreement error. Pronouns are repeatedly used incorrectly for activities and figures (“his number”), and several clauses lack the articles or grammatical structure needed for natural sentences, as in “in 2000 his number of activity 60 above number.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also inconsistent, particularly in the long overview and body sentences. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, article use, and complete sentence patterns before adding more complex structures.
