Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify the main overall pattern: film-club participation stays high and fairly stable, while amateur dramatics declines and table tennis rises. You also cover all five activities and include several relevant figures. However, some key data are misreported: table tennis starts at about 16, not 26, and reaches about 54 in 2020, not 68. The film-club description also says it starts at 65 and falls in 2010, but the chart shows about 64 in 2000 and 60 in 2010, followed by a rise. The overview could better highlight table tennis becoming the second-largest activity. More accurate comparisons and a clearer summary of the most significant changes would strengthen the report.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, an overview and two body paragraphs. The grouping of film club, musical performances and amateur dramatics before discussing martial arts and table tennis gives the reader a basic route through the data. Linking expressions such as “However,” “Moreover” and “Secondly” help signal relationships, although some transitions feel mechanical or do not clearly express the relationship between the figures. For example, “Secondly” introduces two activities without explaining why they are grouped together. Some references, such as “it” in the musical-performances sentence, are not fully clear. Organise the body paragraphs around the main trends—stable/fluctuating activities versus the sharp rise and decline—and use more precise referencing.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a reasonable range of task-related vocabulary, including “slight reduction,” “substantial decline,” “fluctuations” and “dramatic increase,” which helps describe trends. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “participants numbers,” “enroll themselves,” “the people fell in the category,” and “ended up on.” Spelling errors—including “contant,” “relativley,” “Nevetheless” and “tannis”—also reduce the accuracy and polish of the report. Some trend language is stronger than the data warrants, particularly “huge gain” for table tennis, though its rise is indeed substantial. Aim for standard chart-reporting phrases such as “the number of participants,” “stood at,” and “rose to,” and proofread spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “while,” “although” and “after,” and most of the intended meaning remains understandable. Some grammatical errors nevertheless recur. The opening phrase needs a possessive or a clearer noun phrase (“participants numbers”); “the member of musical performances” has a number/agreement problem; and “it experience” should use a past-tense verb form. There are also issues with articles and sentence construction, as in “by 2000 the numbers … starting from 65,” which does not form a clear grammatical sentence. Keep the reporting consistently in the past tense and check subject–verb agreement, singular/plural forms and sentence boundaries. More accurate control of these patterns would make the complex sentences clearer.
