Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You identify the main patterns: film club remains the most popular activity, amateur dramatics declines substantially, and table tennis rises sharply after 2010. The overview also notes the relative stability of martial arts, and the body includes relevant approximate figures to support these points. However, some details are inaccurate or unclear: musical performances first register participants in 2010, not 2002 or 2005, and table tennis rises from about 20 in 2010 to 54 in 2020 rather than simply ending at 55. The claim that film club and martial arts remain at the same figures also overlooks their small fluctuations. To strengthen the response, report the key stages more precisely and make the overview’s comparisons clearer, especially the contrast between table tennis’s growth and amateur dramatics’ decline.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure, moving from an introduction to an overview and then to supporting details. This helps the reader follow the main trends, and linking expressions such as “Overall,” “However,” and “Moreover” signal relationships between points. At times, though, these connectors are repeated or do not create a clear logical link; several sentences begin with “Moreover,” and phrases such as “if talk about most dramatically change” interrupt the progression. Some references are also vague, including “that were remain almost same,” where the activities and figures are not expressed clearly. Grouping the rising and falling activities into more direct comparisons, and using fewer but more precise transitions, would make the organisation smoother.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant task vocabulary, including “participants,” “declined dramatically,” “stable,” and “increased,” so the reader can understand the broad trends. However, the range and control are limited by repeated general wording and several inaccurate collocations or forms, such as “people participant,” “participant were jumped,” and “the noticeable activity.” Spelling errors, including “interset,” “particpation,” and “dramtically,” also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise trend language and natural combinations, for example, “the number of participants rose sharply” or “attendance remained relatively stable.” Varying verbs such as “rose,” “fell,” “fluctuated,” and “reached” would help describe the data more clearly without relying repeatedly on “activity” and “participant.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including comparisons across years, and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction occur in several places. For example, “The line graph illustrate” needs subject–verb agreement, while “participant were jumped massively” has an incorrect verb construction. The sentence beginning “Moreover, if talk about…” is also incomplete in form, and “that were remain almost same” combines incompatible verb forms. These issues sometimes make relationships between figures harder to follow. Practise building accurate comparison sentences with a clear subject and verb, such as “Table tennis participation rose from 20 in 2010 to about 54 in 2020,” and check agreement and tense throughout.
