Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify the main overall patterns: film club remains the most popular activity, table tennis rises strongly, and amateur dramatics declines to the lowest level. These are relevant features and support a clear overview. However, several details are inaccurate or unclear. Martial arts is reported as starting at 45, although the chart shows about 36, and table tennis reaches over 50 only by 2020, not after 2010. The claim that film club and martial arts “did not changed” also overlooks their fluctuations. Musical performances begin in 2000, rather than after 2005, and reach about 18 in 2020. More precise comparisons and accurate reporting of the stages would make the summary more complete and better supported.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, an overview and a paragraph describing individual activities. This helps the reader identify the main trends. However, the final paragraph combines several series in a long, crowded sequence, so comparisons are difficult to follow. Linking phrases such as “although,” “after 10 years” and “at the same time” are sometimes used in ways that do not clearly show the relationship between the data. For example, the table-tennis and musical-performance trends are joined to the discussion of film club and martial arts. Organise the details into clearer groups—perhaps stable or fluctuating activities, then rising and falling ones—and use more precise references to years and series.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “participants,” “sharp rise,” “decreased” and “steadily,” and you attempt to describe change rather than simply list figures. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning harder to understand. Phrases such as “the lowest people were interested,” “the applicants in table tennis” and “the interest of people … was on average” do not express the intended data clearly. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “Austerlia,” “interseted” and “dramaticas.” Use standard chart language such as “participation,” “the number of participants,” “rose sharply” and “fell to,” and check spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses linked with “although” and “after,” but control is inconsistent. Errors in verb forms, agreement and sentence construction occur throughout and sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear. Examples include “Their was sharp rise,” “did not changed,” and “the number … decrease slightly”; these need forms such as “There was a sharp rise,” “did not change” and “the number decreased slightly.” Some sentences also lack clear grammatical structure, particularly the long sentence beginning “In Film club and and material arts.” Practise building shorter, complete sentences first, then combine related information with accurate clauses and punctuation.
