Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify several important patterns: film club remains the largest activity, amateur dramatics declines to the lowest level, and table tennis rises to overtake martial arts. However, the report is only a partial summary: it gives few supporting figures and ends mid-sentence (“and am”), leaving musical performances and the final comparison unexplained. Some details are inaccurate or unclear: table tennis does not fall in 2010; it is level at about 20 from 2005 to 2010, then rises sharply. Film-club participation dips to 60 in 2010 before recovering, rather than simply “regain[ing] the participants.” The response is also three words below the required minimum. Include a complete account of the main trends and a few accurate figures to make the summary more fully informative.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, an overview and a paragraph describing selected activities. This helps the reader identify the main topic and some key trends. However, progression is uneven: the body shifts between film club and table tennis, then stops abruptly at “and am,” so the final activity is not integrated into the account. Some links are repetitive or unclear, including “After facing the the fall,” and the sentence beginning “The most popular activities” runs into the next sentence without punctuation. Organise the body by grouping the leading and rising activities separately from those that decline or remain lower, and use clear sentence boundaries and transitions to guide the comparison.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “gradual decline,” “dramatically,” “surged,” and “overtaking,” which helps describe changes over time. There is also some repetition of general terms such as “individuals,” “participants” and “activities,” and several word choices or forms are inaccurate: “enrollment” is not a natural description of the number of people taking part, while “dramatic fell” and “reamined” weaken clarity. “Popularity” is sometimes used where the graph directly reports participant numbers, so precise wording would be preferable. Expand the range of accurate trend language and check spelling and collocations; this would make the description clearer and more natural without requiring overly complex vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mixture of simple statements and longer sentences, and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, errors occur frequently enough to make parts of the response awkward or unclear. For example, “Table tennis becomes” shifts tense from the past-time chart, and “it faces a dramatic fell” has faulty verb construction. The sentence “The number of individuals in film club activity recorded the highest” is also structurally unclear, while “The most popular activities among individuals are film club and table tennis” lacks punctuation before the following sentence. The final fragment is incomplete. Use consistent past-tense forms for the period shown, check subject–verb and verb-form patterns, and proofread punctuation and sentence completeness.
