Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You cover all five activities and report many of their main movements, including the film club’s broadly stable level, the decline in amateur dramatics, and the strong growth in table tennis. Most figures are close to the chart, but there are some inaccuracies: table tennis reaches about 54 in 2020, not a “trough” of 55 (it is a peak), and musical performances end at about 18 rather than 19. The overview is too vague: “both activities rise, fall and vice versa” does not identify the key contrasts. State clearly that film club remains the most popular, table tennis rises sharply, and amateur dramatics falls substantially. This would make the summary more selective and the main features clearer.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic overall structure, with an introduction, an attempted overview, and paragraphs describing the activities. Grouping the figures by activity makes the information easy to locate. However, progression is weakened by the vague overview and by several awkward links between clauses, such as “In 2010, a collapse to 20 which drop to to 13” and “By 2015, it sudden go up to 35 in 2015.” Some transitions are also repetitive, particularly “At the end” and “In 2010.” Use clearer sentence boundaries and link related trends more deliberately—for example, contrast the declining amateur dramatics figures with table tennis’s rise. This would make the account flow more logically.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a reasonable range of trend vocabulary, including “decrease,” “recovery,” “slump,” “climb,” and “steadily,” and the activity names are generally clear. However, several choices are inaccurate or unnatural for describing a line graph. “Collapse” and “slump” overstate relatively modest changes, while “hit a trough” is incorrect for table tennis’s highest value. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “droped,” “paricipants,” and “Muscial,” and some imprecise phrasing such as “musical performance” when referring to the activity category. Choose neutral, precise verbs such as “fell,” “rose,” and “reached a peak,” and check spelling and collocations before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts a mixture of short statements and longer sentences, but control is inconsistent, and errors occur frequently enough to make some passages difficult to follow. Examples include “The number of participants … decrease,” “It droped,” and “A rise to 39 occur,” where verb forms do not agree with the subject or tense. Several clauses are incomplete or joined incorrectly: “In 2010, a collapse to 20 which drop to to 13” and “By 2015, it sudden go up to 35 in 2015.” Articles, prepositions, and sentence punctuation also need attention, as in “reached to its peak.” Build accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with controlled clauses, keeping past-tense verbs consistent throughout.
