Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You identify the main overall pattern that the film club remained the most popular activity and that amateur dramatics declined, and you include relevant details such as table tennis rising to above 50 participants by 2020. These points show a generally relevant summary of the graph. However, the overview is not fully accurate: musical performances were the lowest only at the beginning; by 2020 amateur dramatics had fallen to about 6, below musical performances at around 18. Some figures and time references are also unclear, such as saying amateur dramatics had 20 participants in 2000 when it was about 26, and describing table tennis as growing gradually before 2010 despite its early rise being modest. A clearer overview and more precise comparisons would strengthen the response.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, moving from an introduction and overview to details about the activities, and linking expressions such as “Overall,” “Moving further,” and “Furthermore” help signal progression. However, the organisation within the detail paragraph is not consistently clear: several activities are combined in long sentences, and the final sentence about the film club repeats an earlier point rather than adding a useful comparison. Some linking is mechanical or awkward, particularly “moreover” in the amateur-dramatics sentence and “Although” before a statement that does not present a contrast. Grouping the rising, falling, and relatively stable activities into separate, clearly ordered comparisons would make the progression easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some relevant vocabulary for describing trends, including “decline,” “gradually,” “rose,” and “participants,” so the reader can understand the main subject and changes. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or informal, which limits precision. “Rollercoaster like growth” is not a suitable description of martial arts, whose figures fluctuate around a similar level, while “developed interest” and “participants love to take part” make unsupported claims about motivation. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “melborne,” “perfoemances,” “intrest,” and “incresing.” Aim for accurate trend language such as “fluctuated slightly,” “remained broadly stable,” and “increased sharply,” and check spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mixture of simple and more complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “whereas” and “Although,” and most of the intended meaning remains understandable. Some grammatical errors nevertheless reduce accuracy. The opening has an article and preposition problem (“at single social center” and “between 2000 to 2020”), and capitalisation is inconsistent in “Overall, The film club.” In “the number reduced to less than 10,” the phrasing needs a clearer grammatical construction, while “the film club line … depicts an increasing number … love to take part” has an unclear subject and agreement. Use consistent past-tense reporting, check articles and prepositions, and make sure each sentence has a clear subject and verb.
