The line graph given compare the participants number that take part in different activities in a single social centre in melbourne australia from 2000 to 2020. We have five different kind of activities according to the line graph. In horizontal we have years while on the vertical side we have the number of participants.
To began with, types of activities we have five sort of activities which are film club, martial arts, amateur dramatics, table tennis and the last one is musical performance. There is not a huge change in the number of participants in the film club there is a slight drop in 2010 but it went back to normal. Martial arts have some up's and down's in period of 2000 to 2010 there is a drop in the number of participants in the next decade the numbers of individuals rise again but after 5 years the number goes down and currently in the same satution.
In addition, the amatuer dramatics is rising from 2000 to 2005 but after it there is a huge decline in the number of people in that activity. On the other hand we can see a impressive rise in the number of table tennis player in the graph. At the end the musical performances there no such thing like that in the period of 2000 to 2005 but after it introduce it still goes up and shinning.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify all five activities and describe several genuine patterns, including the film club’s relative stability, the decline in amateur dramatics, and the strong growth in table tennis. However, the response gives no clear overall summary of the most important changes, and some descriptions are vague or inaccurate. For example, table tennis rises from about 16 to 54 participants, but this key comparison is not quantified; musical performances begin in 2010, rather than being “introduced” without a clear time reference. The account of martial arts is difficult to follow and does not clearly report its fluctuations. To strengthen the response, add a concise overview contrasting the main rises and falls, then support it with accurate figures and clearer comparisons across the period.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has some paragraphing and uses basic signposts such as “To began with,” “In addition,” and “On the other hand,” so the reader can recognise that different activities are being discussed. However, there is no clear overall progression from an overview to organised details, and the opening mainly explains the graph’s axes rather than presenting its main message. Several ideas run together, particularly the account of martial arts, where the sequence of changes is hard to track. Some linking phrases are also used mechanically or do not clarify the relationship between points. Organise the report into an introduction, a brief overview, and detail paragraphs grouped by trend; use time markers and comparisons to make each paragraph’s progression clear.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant activity vocabulary, including “participants,” “decline,” “rise,” and “up and down,” and the reader can generally understand which trends you mean. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or informal, such as “went back to normal,” “shinning,” and “there no such thing like that.” There are also spelling and form errors, including “amatuer” and “satution,” which reduce precision. Aim for neutral, data-focused language and choose verbs that describe the graph directly, such as “remained stable,” “fluctuated,” “fell steadily,” and “increased sharply.” Check spelling and use the correct activity or participant form when describing each series.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some longer sentences and use present-tense descriptions, but the range of sentence structures is limited and errors occur frequently. For example, “The line graph given compare” has subject–verb disagreement, while “To began with” uses an incorrect verb form. Articles and sentence construction are also problematic in “the musical performances there no such thing like that,” and several clauses are joined without clear punctuation. These errors sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow, especially in the martial-arts description. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then build longer comparisons using clauses such as “Although the figure fell initially, it later recovered.” Check agreement, verb forms, articles, and punctuation when editing.
