Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You identify the main overall pattern: the film club remains the largest activity, while amateur dramatics declines to the lowest level. You also select relevant changes, including table tennis rising from about 15 to 55 and amateur dramatics falling substantially. Most figures are close to the chart, though musical performances began in 2010, not 2005, and amateur dramatics ends at about 6 rather than 3. The overview is relevant but broad: saying that most categories simply “increase or decrease” does not capture the striking rise in table tennis or the relative stability of martial arts. To strengthen the response, report the key turning points and comparisons more precisely, and distinguish the two categories that fluctuate from those with clear overall trends.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall arrangement, with an introduction, an overview, and two paragraphs grouping the activities. This makes the main information easy to locate, and transitions such as “Moreover” and “Furthermore” help connect details. However, some linking is mechanical, and the overview’s general statement that categories “increase or decrease” is not developed into a clear map of the specific trends. The final paragraph also calls the film club and martial arts “stable,” although the film club dips and then rises, while martial arts fluctuates. Improve progression by grouping activities according to their patterns and using comparisons to connect them, rather than relying mainly on transition words.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a reasonable range of task-related vocabulary, including “upward trend,” “fluctuating trend,” “decline,” and “participants,” so the main trends are generally understandable. However, several word choices and collocations are unnatural or imprecise, such as “candidates participating,” “recorded at 15,” “reaching to 55,” and “a significant number of decline.” There are also spelling errors, including “increse” and “fim,” and the repeated use of “participants” and “recorded” limits flexibility. Choose standard chart-reporting phrases such as “stood at,” “rose to,” and “fell from … to …,” and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise vocabulary would make the comparisons clearer and more natural.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including comparisons with “whereas” and time clauses such as “before reaching.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “the musical performance students start taking part in 2005” has an unclear subject and tense, while “reaching to 55” and “reaching at 65” use incorrect preposition patterns. Articles and sentence boundaries also need attention: “According to graph” requires an article, and there is missing spacing after full stops in the overview. Aim for accurate past-tense reporting throughout, and check article use, verb forms, and prepositions in each sentence. This will help your varied sentence attempts read more smoothly.
