Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You identify the main overall patterns and support them with relevant figures: film-club participation remains highest, table tennis rises sharply, musical performances grow from zero, and amateur dramatics declines. Most reported values are close to the chart. The overview is useful, but saying martial arts “remained the same” is too broad: it fluctuates between roughly 32 and 38 before ending near its starting level. The body also gives more detail for some series than others, and the film-club and martial-arts comparison could be clearer. This meets the task well and shows some selection of key features; to make the account more complete and precise, distinguish stable end-to-end totals from changes during the period and compare the series more explicitly.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, an overview, and two paragraphs describing the data. The sequence from amateur dramatics and musical performances to table tennis and the remaining activities is understandable, and linking expressions such as “Overall,” “Meanwhile,” and “Nevertheless” help signal relationships. However, some transitions feel mechanical or do not express the relationship precisely; for example, “On the other” is incomplete, and “Nevertheless” does not clearly contrast the table-tennis figures that follow. Several details are crowded into the final paragraph, while the first body paragraph combines two separate trends. Grouping rising activities together and declining or fluctuating ones together would create smoother progression and make comparisons easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for describing trends, including “significant decrease,” “considerable increase,” “plateaued,” and “fluctuations.” These choices help communicate the main movements, and the meaning is generally clear. Some word choices and collocations are less natural or imprecise, however: “amount of participants” is better expressed as “number of participants,” and “reached to a peak” is not idiomatic. “Faced some fluctuations” is also awkward, while “dramatic increase” could be replaced with a more measured description suited to formal data reporting. Aim for precise, conventional chart language and check singular/plural forms in phrases such as “19 participant.” This would make the vocabulary more controlled and natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “while” and “where,” and most of the trends remain understandable. Some grammatical and punctuation errors persist. For example, “reached to a peak” has an incorrect verb pattern, and “it fell significantly approximately 7” is missing a clear preposition and noun phrase. There are also sentence-boundary and spacing problems, such as “2005.However” and “2005,it,” as well as awkward construction in “where in 2020 it ended.” Review verb patterns, articles and prepositions, and use punctuation to separate clauses cleanly. More consistently accurate complex sentences would strengthen the control shown in the response.
