Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You identify the main overall patterns: table tennis rises strongly, amateur dramatics falls, and film-club participation stays broadly stable. You also cover all five activities and give useful starting and ending details. Most figures are close to the chart, although table tennis reaches about 54 in 2020 rather than 58, and martial arts is about 36 in 2000 rather than 38. The overview could be more precise: film-club numbers dip slightly before recovering, while table tennis becomes the second-largest activity by 2020. Some trends, especially musical performances and the changing rankings, are reported briefly rather than compared in detail. More accurate figures and clearer comparisons would make the account more fully developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear four-part structure, moving from an introduction and overview to details about the beginning and later years. This gives the reader a coherent overall route through the information. Linking expressions such as “Overall,” “Between 2005 and 2020,” and “On the other hand” help signal relationships, though some are used mechanically or do not create a clear contrast. For example, “As compared amateur dramatics declined” is an incomplete transition, and the repeated “However” and “On the other hand” make the final paragraph feel list-like. Grouping the series by contrasting trends—rising, falling, and relatively stable—would improve progression and make comparisons easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of vocabulary for describing trends, including “increased,” “declined considerably,” “fluctuated,” and “remained constant.” These choices communicate the main patterns, and some less common expressions such as “sharply increased” show an attempt to vary your language. However, several phrases are imprecise or unnatural, including “different five activities,” “reached very low position,” and “the table tennis experienced.” Capitalisation is also inconsistent for activity names, and “participants” is repeated frequently. Aim for more natural collocations and precise descriptions of values and trends; this would add flexibility without sacrificing clarity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple sentences and more complex forms, including a contrast beginning “While the participants of film club remained stable” and a sentence using “However.” The main information is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors remain. For example, “the highest number of participants in film club approximately at 64” is missing a verb, and “As compared amateur dramatics declined” has an incomplete construction. There are also issues with articles and number, as in “different five activities,” and sentence boundaries and punctuation are inconsistent, particularly around “while” and “However.” Build more accurate comparison sentences and check that each clause has a complete subject and verb.
