Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify several relevant overall patterns, including the sharp rise in table tennis and the decline in amateur dramatics, and you mention that musical performances began at zero. However, the overview contains a major misreading: table tennis did not have the highest participation overall; the film club remained highest throughout, while table tennis rose to second place by 2020. The claim that film club and martial arts were constant is also too broad: film club dipped slightly before rising, and martial arts fluctuated. Some figures are inaccurate, such as table tennis starting at about 16 rather than 25 and reaching about 54 rather than 65. To strengthen the response, report the main comparisons accurately and distinguish stable trends from fluctuating ones; the musical performances trend also needs its gradual rise described more precisely.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, an overview, and paragraphs describing the activity trends. Linking expressions such as “Overall,” “In contrast,” “Moreover,” and “Additionally” help signal comparisons, and the reader can follow the broad progression from the overview to supporting details. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some flexibility in connecting ideas. However, the sequence within the detail paragraph is not always smooth, and repeated contrast markers sometimes make the relationships feel mechanical. The overview also groups film club and martial arts together despite their different patterns. Improve progression by grouping the two rising activities, then the declining activity, and finally the relatively stable series, using clear references to avoid repeating “number of participants.”
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a reasonable range of task-related vocabulary, including “surge,” “plummeted,” “constant pattern,” and “participation,” so the main trends are generally understandable. There are also attempts to vary how changes are described. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “the information of participation,” “highest number of participation,” and “showed the hike of participants.” Spelling errors in “dramtics” and “perfomanes/perfomances” are noticeable, and “no change in participation” does not clearly express that the figure remained at zero until 2005. These issues limit precision. Use standard chart language such as “the number of participants,” “rose sharply,” and “increased gradually,” and check spelling carefully before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use both simple statements and more complex sentences, including clauses linked with “while,” “after,” and “in contrast,” and the overall meaning is usually clear. This shows an adequate mix of structures, although some errors remain. For example, “the highest number of participation was shown” has an awkward grammatical construction, while “after 2005 it rose” needs clearer punctuation and clause separation. In “started with 65 number of participants,” the noun phrase is not formed correctly, and “from 2000 t0 2020” contains a typing error. There are also inconsistent article and plural patterns in phrases such as “number of participants” and “the number of participation.” Aim for accurate forms such as “the number of participants was highest” and “it rose from about 16 to 54.”
