Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You identify all five activities and note several genuine broad patterns, especially the stability of film club and the contrasting rise in table tennis and fall in amateur dramatics. However, the account is only a partial summary: it lacks a clear overview of the main changes and gives few accurate comparisons across the period. Some details are misreported: film club dips slightly around 2010 but ends higher, martial arts fluctuates around the mid-30s rather than rising steadily to 40, and musical performances begin in 2010, not 2005, reaching about 18 by 2020. The claim that the lines cross at 25 in 2010 is also inaccurate. Select the most important trends and support them with reliable figures.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some organisation: the response moves through film club and martial arts, then amateur dramatics and table tennis, and finally musical performances. Connectors such as “firstly,” “similarly,” and “lastly” help signal this sequence. However, the progression is not consistently clear because there is no distinct overview, and several ideas are crowded into long sentences with unclear links, such as the sentence beginning “secondaly it is visible.” Some transitions, including “rather than this,” do not clearly express the relationship between the points. Use separate paragraphs for an overview and the main comparisons, and connect each sentence with precise references to the trends being compared.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt some task-relevant vocabulary, including “stable,” “slightly,” “gradually,” and “dramatic fall,” and the reader can generally identify which activities you mean. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make the description difficult to follow. For example, “took participants” is not a natural way to describe attendance, “ratio” is repeatedly used where “number” or “figure” is needed, and “starts in 2005 in all of the others activity” obscures the intended comparison. Spelling errors such as “diffrent,” “dicline,” and “drametic” also reduce clarity. Build a small set of accurate trend phrases and check spelling and word forms before finishing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts to combine ideas using clauses, for example, “however the table tennis get surprising reose in 2020,” but sentence structures are limited and errors are frequent enough to make some relationships unclear. Problems include missing or incorrect articles and agreement in “which include five activity,” verb forms in “it fall” and “it just rose,” and incomplete or awkward sentence construction in “firstly speak about film club.” Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, particularly at sentence beginnings and around commas. Practise accurate simple past-tense descriptions first, then add controlled comparisons using “while” or “whereas.” Clear sentence boundaries and consistent subject–verb agreement would make the trends much easier to understand.
