Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify the chart’s subject and cover all five activities, with relevant attention to the film club’s high figures and the contrasting rise in table tennis and fall in amateur dramatics. However, the overview is unclear: “had highest increased” does not accurately summarise the main pattern, and the film club actually fluctuates slightly rather than showing the largest increase. Several figures and trends are inaccurate: film club stays around 60–66, not 65–70; martial arts fluctuates around 32–38, not 40–42; and amateur dramatics falls from about 26 to 6. The response also contains 131 words, below the 150-word minimum; 14 words copied from the prompt were excluded. Add a clearer overview and accurate comparisons to develop the report more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic structure: an introduction, an attempted overview, and a paragraph describing the activities. Linking expressions such as “Overall,” “Whereas,” and “Moreover” show an effort to connect information. However, progression is difficult to follow because the overview does not clearly identify the main trends, and several contrast markers introduce incomplete or awkwardly connected ideas, such as “While there had lower steadily.” The final paragraph moves from one activity to another without grouping related trends or making comparisons clear. Organise the details into logical groups—for example, activities that remain relatively stable and those that change substantially—and use simpler, accurate links between sentences.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant chart vocabulary, including “participants,” “gradually,” “fluctuate,” and “steeply,” and the activity names make the subject clear. However, the range is limited and several word choices or combinations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the intended trend hard to understand. Examples include “had highest increased,” “lower steadily,” and “had been gone up.” The repeated use of “participants” and “increased” also limits variety, while “65%” and “58%” incorrectly present participant counts as percentages. Use precise trend language and report numbers as participants, not percentages. Check spelling as well: “beginnig,” “flustuate,” and “appoximately” distract from the information.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt to use both simple sentences and longer clauses, including contrasts introduced by “Whereas” and “However.” Nevertheless, complex constructions are often faulty, and frequent errors in verb forms, sentence structure, and articles make some statements difficult to interpret. For example, “the number of participants had highest increased” has an incorrect verb construction, while “the participants of film clubs had been increased” uses an unsuitable passive form. “While there had lower steadily” is also incomplete as a clause. Prefer direct forms such as “Film-club attendance remained stable” or “Amateur dramatics declined.” Practise accurate past-simple reporting and complete sentences before adding more complex comparisons.
