Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify several important patterns: the film club remains the largest activity, table tennis rises substantially, and amateur dramatics declines. However, some reported figures and trends are inaccurate. Amateur dramatics starts at about 26, not 35, and musical performances reach about 18 in 2020, rather than 25. Martial arts fluctuates rather than showing a steady increase and decrease, and the film-club figures are broadly stable around 60–66, not 65–68 throughout. The overview also misses the notable rise in table tennis and the introduction and growth of musical performances. These relevant but partly inaccurate and underdeveloped details mean the main features are only partially covered; check the plotted values and prioritise the clearest overall changes.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, an overview and two paragraphs of detail, so the reader can identify the activities being discussed. However, the progression between points is not consistently clear. The overview sentence beginning “where is Martial arts” is difficult to connect to the film-club point, and the final paragraph largely repeats the earlier comparison rather than adding a clear new feature. Linking expressions such as “meanwhile” and “on the other hand” are used, but the relationships they signal are sometimes unclear or awkward. Grouping the rising activities together and the declining or fluctuating ones together, then using clear comparisons, would create a more logical progression and reduce repetition.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant task vocabulary, including “participants,” “drastically dropped,” “tripled,” and “increased,” and these choices help communicate the broad trends. However, the range and control are uneven, with several inaccurate or unnatural expressions: “participants count,” “people participanted,” “musical performers” for the activity, and “reached at 25.” Spelling errors such as “steadly” and “tables tennis” also reduce precision. Some wording is repetitive, particularly repeated references to “participants” and “activities.” Use standard chart language and accurate activity names, and choose verbs that describe the data precisely. This would make the comparisons clearer and more natural while retaining the relevant vocabulary already attempted.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with comparisons, but control is inconsistent and errors sometimes make relationships difficult to follow. For example, “where is Martial arts participant count shows” has faulty sentence structure and subject–verb agreement, while “Amateur dramatics number drastically dropped” lacks a clear possessive or article. Capitalisation and punctuation are also unreliable, as in “Overall, Highest” and the sentence fragment-like “where is other four activities…”. Most sentences follow basic patterns, and the longer sentence using “meanwhile” and “on the other hand” is not securely controlled. Practise forming complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, checking agreement and articles, and separating contrasting points with accurate punctuation.
