Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the main overall contrast: film club remains the largest activity, table tennis rises substantially, and amateur dramatics declines. You also mention musical performances beginning later and increasing. However, some key details are inaccurate or unclear. Table tennis reaches about 54 participants in 2020, not approximately 57, and musical performances begin in 2010, not five years later than the period’s start; the phrase “reached 0 to nearly 20” obscures the trend. The final sentence says two other activities had a similar trend without identifying them or explaining how. To strengthen the summary, report the contrasting pattern for martial arts, which fluctuates around the mid-30s, and give clearer, accurate comparisons across the period.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, an overview and paragraphs describing selected activities. This helps the reader follow the broad trends. However, progression becomes less clear in places: the table-tennis paragraph shifts to musical performances, and the final sentence refers vaguely to “other 2 activities” without naming them or specifying their pattern. Some linking is also awkward or inconsistent, as in “On the other hand, Despite…” and “While other 2 activities…”. Grouping the series by trend—for example, rising activities, declining activity, and the relatively stable series—would make the comparisons easier to follow. Use linking phrases selectively and ensure each paragraph has a clear focus.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for describing data, including “slight fluctuation,” “remained at the same level,” “jumped dramatically,” and “modest increase.” These expressions show an attempt to vary your language. However, several word-choice and spelling problems reduce precision: “most famous activity” is not the natural way to describe participation, “members” is less suitable than “participants,” and “conversly,” “muscial,” “aropund,” and “similaer” are misspelled. “Reached 0 to nearly 20” is also an unclear description of the musical-performance figures. Aim for accurate collocations such as “had the highest participation” and “rose from zero to around 18,” and proofread carefully so errors do not distract from the data.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including contrast clauses with “while” and “although” and relative clauses such as “which had a slight increase.” The main trends are generally understandable, but grammatical errors recur. Examples include “the 20 years period” and “In 2000, number of members,” where article and noun-phrase forms are inaccurate; “table tennis were” has subject–verb disagreement; and “from the starting” is an incorrect construction. The sentence beginning “While other 2 activities…” is also incomplete as written. Review articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries, and make sure subordinate clauses are attached to a complete main clause. More accurate control of these patterns would make your comparisons clearer.
