Student answer (Band 5.5)
The Supplied graph clearly shows the Number of Participants for five activites which are Film club , Martial arts , Amateur dramatics , Amareur dramatics , Table tennis and Musical performances.
As we can clearly see that the highest ratio is of film club in two decades where as the lowest is having Amateur dramatics. overall more people had a flim club activity and lowest peoples had a part in musical performance.
There are many fluctuatings in these activities. People had highest part in film club and is constant interest till 2020 just bit slow between 2010. The Amateur dramatics has very changed and goes rapidly down from 2005 from 25 to less than 10. where as Table tennis jumped constant from 18 to 50 in last decade
However, Martial arts has normal flactuate and remains same in 2020 as was in 2000 and on other hand people were not paricipating in Musical performances since 2005 and then starting taking part but just goes till 18% ratio in 2020

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify several relevant patterns, including the film club’s consistently high participation, the decline in amateur dramatics, and the growth of table tennis. However, the overview is unclear and contains a key contradiction: you first call amateur dramatics the lowest activity, then say musical performances had the fewest participants. In fact, musical performances began at zero and were lowest initially, while amateur dramatics fell to about six by 2020. Some details are also imprecise: table tennis rose sharply, especially after 2010, rather than increasing “constant[ly],” and film-club participation dipped slightly before rising. To strengthen the report, give a clear overview of the main changes and compare the series accurately across the period.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic sequence: an introduction, an attempted overview, and further comments on the activities. This gives the reader some organisation, and phrases such as “whereas” and “on the other hand” show an effort to connect comparisons. However, progression is not consistently clear. The overview contradicts itself about which activity had the lowest participation, and the final paragraph combines martial arts and musical performances without a clear transition between their trends. Some linking phrases are awkward or repetitive, including “As we can clearly see” and “However.” Organise the report into a concise overview followed by grouped comparisons, and use references such as “this figure” only when their meaning is clear.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “participants,” “fluctuate,” “rapidly down,” and “remains same,” so the main subject is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “highest ratio” is not appropriate for participant numbers, “highest part” is unclear, and “goes till 18% ratio” misrepresents a number of participants as a percentage. There are also noticeable spelling errors, such as “activites,” “flim,” “flactuate,” and “paricipating.” Use precise terms such as “number,” “figure,” “rose,” and “fell,” and check spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts some longer sentence forms, for example by joining comparisons with “whereas” and “on the other hand,” but control is inconsistent. Several sentences have faulty structure or missing grammatical elements: “As we can clearly see that…” has an unnecessary “that,” while “The Amateur dramatics has very changed” has an incorrect verb construction. Agreement and articles are also problematic in “the highest ratio is of film club” and “lowest peoples had a part.” Punctuation and capitalisation errors, including sentence fragments after full stops and inconsistent capital letters, further affect readability. Practise writing clear subject–verb sentences first, then add subordinate clauses, checking verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries.
