Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify several important patterns: the film club remains the largest activity, table tennis rises markedly, and amateur dramatics declines after 2005. However, some details are inaccurate or unclear. The film club does not simply remain stable: it dips slightly to 60 in 2010 before rising to 66. Table tennis rises from about 16 to 20 by 2005 and stays level in 2010, rather than increasing steadily throughout that period. Musical performances begin in 2010, not 2005, and amateur dramatics peaks in 2005 before falling. The response covers the main activities, but the overview and comparisons are underdeveloped; report the key turning points and final rankings more precisely.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some organisation: an opening statement is followed by a broad overview and then a further paragraph about film club and amateur dramatics. You also attempt linking expressions such as “Overall,” “moreover,” and “on the other hand.” However, the first main paragraph combines nearly every trend in one long, difficult-to-follow sentence, while the final paragraph repeats earlier points without adding a clear comparison. Some links are inaccurate or do not show the relationship between ideas clearly. Improve progression by using a concise overview, then grouping the rising activities together and the declining or fluctuating ones together. Shorter sentences and clearer references to each activity would make the information easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to describing data, including “remain stable,” “increased rapidly,” “peak,” and “dropped.” These choices show awareness of the language needed for a graph, but frequent spelling errors and inaccurate word combinations make parts of the report difficult to understand. Examples include “conquird,” “waverd resault,” “dramaticly,” and “tennis table.” Phrases such as “members of participants” and “losing the game” are not appropriate for describing participation figures. Aim for accurate, conventional expressions such as “number of participants,” “fluctuated,” and “fell sharply.” Checking spelling and choosing precise collocations would make your meaning clearer and your vocabulary more effective.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt longer sentences and use some subordinate structures, for example “after that it is dramaticly dropped,” but these are often faulty, and there are few reliably controlled sentence patterns. Subject–verb agreement is inconsistent (“The line graph provide,” “film club have”), and verb forms are often incorrect (“it is remain stable,” “it has increased rapidly into 2020”). Articles and sentence boundaries also need attention; the opening lacks a clear grammatical structure, and the long overview sentence contains several clauses joined without effective punctuation. These errors sometimes make the timeline and relationships hard to interpret. Practise writing short, accurate sentences in the past tense, then combine them with controlled clauses using “while,” “whereas,” or “after.”
