Overall, it can observed that the film club had the most number of participants and the number of table tennis and musical performances participants increased while amateur dramatics number of participants reduced and the martial arts participants had some ups and downs but it was pretty constant just like the film club.

Taking a closer look, the film clubs participant number was pretty constant and it started at about 65 then it gradually decreased to 60 by 2010 however after tha it rose to 65 again by 2020.Then there was the martial arts participants their number in 2000 was 35 it fell to about 30 in 2005 and then went back to 35 by 2010 and had the similar pattern for the next decade as well.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the main overall patterns: film club remains the largest activity, table tennis and musical performances rise, and amateur dramatics declines. Most reported figures are close to the chart, including the film club’s fall to around 60 and later recovery, and the sharp growth in table tennis. However, the overview is not fully precise: martial arts fluctuates around the mid-30s rather than following a clearly repeated pattern, and the final comparison is unclear about which activity rose from zero. Musical performances begin in 2000, not 2005, and reach about 18 in 2020. To strengthen the response, report the key start and end points accurately and make the overview’s comparisons more exact.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, an overview and two paragraphs describing the series. This helps the reader follow the main trends. However, progression within the detail paragraphs is sometimes awkward: “Then there was the martial arts participants” is an unclear transition, while the final sentence combines table tennis and musical performances in a way that makes the figures difficult to assign. Linking words such as “however” and “while” are used, but some connections are mechanical or imprecise. Use one focused paragraph for the two relatively stable activities and another for the more substantial changes, and make each comparison explicit so that references such as “the other” have a clear meaning.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for describing trends, including “gradually decreased,” “rose,” “fell” and “increased,” so the main information is generally understandable. However, the range is limited by repeated use of “number of participants” and informal phrases such as “pretty constant” and “ups and downs.” There are also noticeable word-choice and spelling problems: “volumn” is incorrect, and “film clubs participant number” is an awkward expression. Aim for more precise chart language and accurate forms, such as “participation,” “remained relatively stable,” and “fluctuated.” Varying the nouns and verbs used to describe changes would make the report more concise and appropriately formal.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast with “however” and a comparison using “while.” The overall meaning can usually be understood, but errors recur in sentence construction, agreement and punctuation. For example, “it can observed” is missing “be,” and “amateur dramatics number of participants reduced” needs a clearer grammatical structure. Several sentences run together without spaces after full stops, as in “2020.Then,” and “2020.Table.” There are also inconsistent plural forms in phrases such as “film clubs participant number.” Check verb forms and sentence boundaries, and use a reliable pattern such as “The number of participants in amateur dramatics fell…” to improve accuracy while retaining varied sentence structures.
