Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify the five activities and give a broad overview, noting that film club participation was high and amateur dramatics ended at the lowest level. You also mention the decline in amateur dramatics and the rise in table tennis. However, several key trends are unclear or inaccurate: film club numbers dipped slightly before rising, rather than simply becoming similar to the starting figure; table tennis was not “greater to 2010” but remained around 20 before climbing sharply; and musical performances began in 2010, not 2005. The description of martial arts is also confusing, as it fluctuated rather than becoming stable. Select the most important changes and report them precisely, including the strong growth in table tennis and the steady fall in amateur dramatics.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has an opening overview and uses paragraphs to group some of the activities, so there is a basic attempt to organise the information. However, the progression is difficult to follow because several trends are joined in long, unclear sentences, such as the account of film club and martial arts. Connectors including “Firstly,” “Then,” and “On the other hand” do not always show a clear relationship between the points, and “At last” is not a natural way to introduce the final series. Some ideas are repeated or left incomplete. Improve the organisation by grouping the activities with similar patterns, then use clear comparisons and references to years to guide the reader through each paragraph.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant task vocabulary such as “participants,” “declined,” “increased,” and “gradually,” which helps communicate the general subject and direction of change. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make the trends hard to understand. Phrases such as “became as in 2020,” “increased as slope,” and “was not include” are not natural descriptions of a graph. There are also spelling errors, including “incrased” and “Amature,” and the activity name “material arts” is inaccurate. Build a more precise set of trend expressions, such as “fluctuated,” “rose sharply,” and “fell steadily,” and check spelling and activity labels carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some longer sentences and use past-tense forms to describe the period, but the range of structures is limited and errors occur frequently. For example, “the people join film club was also large” has problems with verb form and sentence structure, while “the musical performances was not include” has errors in agreement and passive construction. Missing or misplaced punctuation also makes sentences run together, as in the opening overview and the film-club description. Practise writing clear subject–verb sentences, for example, “The number of film-club participants fell slightly before rising again.” Use consistent past-tense verbs and separate each activity’s trend into manageable sentences.
