Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You cover all five activities and identify several broad patterns, including the rise in table tennis and the decline in amateur dramatics. However, the report only partially fulfils the task because some key figures and trends are inaccurate or unclear. For example, film club participation stayed around 60–66, rather than being “neutral,” and amateur dramatics fell to about 6 in 2020, not 2 or 3. Table tennis rose to approximately 54, while musical performances began in 2000 at zero, rather than first taking place in 2005. There is also no clear overview that highlights the main contrasts across the period. Select the most important overall trends, then support them with accurate comparisons and representative figures.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response is divided into paragraphs and generally discusses the activities in a recognisable order, so the reader can follow its broad subject. However, progression between points is not consistently clear, and linking expressions sometimes create confusing relationships. For instance, “Whereas, in martial arts” does not clearly connect the comparison to the film-club figures, while “all this it shows” makes the sentence difficult to follow. The final paragraph also combines table tennis and musical performances without a clear transition. Use a brief overview followed by logically grouped details, and make each paragraph focus on a clear comparison or trend. More precise links such as “By contrast” and “Meanwhile” would help when used to show the intended relationship.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-related vocabulary, including “participants,” “period,” and “changes,” and attempt to describe movement with phrases such as “dropped a little.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make the data difficult to interpret. “Neutral and steady” is not a natural way to describe a largely stable figure, and “doomed” does not convey the sharp rise in table tennis. There are also noticeable spelling and form errors, including “intresting” and “performmances.” Build a reliable set of trend verbs and comparison phrases, and check spelling and collocations so that your descriptions are both accurate and natural.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt to combine ideas in longer sentences, but the range of structures is limited and these attempts often contain errors that make relationships unclear. For example, “The graph illustrates about the number” has an unnecessary preposition, and “Amateur dramatics had a changes” has incorrect article and number agreement. In “it was started with the 28 participants,” the sentence structure and article use are also faulty. Several sentences lack clear punctuation or have incomplete connections, as in “10 people in 2010 and had almost 20 people till 2020.” Practise accurate simple sentences first, then add controlled clauses using “while,” “whereas,” or “which.” Check articles, plurals, verb forms, and sentence boundaries during revision.
