Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify several important features: the film club remains the most popular activity, table tennis rises substantially, and amateur dramatics declines to the lowest level. However, the account is only partial and some details are inaccurate or unclear. For example, table tennis starts at about 16, not 18, and its sharp rise occurs mainly after 2010, reaching about 54 in 2020; it does not rise from 20 to 55 in 2010. The martial arts figures fluctuate around the mid-30s rather than showing a clear overall increase. The overview is also weakened by the confusing statement that musical activities “go to the ground.” Select the main trends accurately and summarise them clearly before adding supporting figures.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has some organisation, with an opening, two body sections signalled by “First of all” and “Secondly,” and a concluding sentence. These markers help separate points, but the progression is not consistently clear: the first body section combines the film club, table tennis and amateur dramatics, while the next revisits several of the same activities. “In conclusion” then introduces a new detail about musical performances rather than drawing together the main trends. Some linking phrases, such as “Further more,” are used mechanically, and references such as “this” or “the interesting trend” do not always make the intended comparison clear. Grouping the activities by rising, falling or stable trends would create a more logical sequence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for describing data, including “dramatic increase,” “constant rate,” “highest number” and “lowest point.” This shows an attempt to use task-specific language, but the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning difficult to follow. For instance, “musical activities go to the ground” does not clearly describe the series, and “film club stand for highest number” is not a natural way to report participation. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “bigning,” “intresting,” “showned” and “armateur.” Use precise trend verbs such as “rose,” “fluctuated” and “declined,” and check spelling and common collocations when editing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, but control is inconsistent, and errors frequently affect clarity. Subject–verb agreement is missing in “film club stand” and “the martial art show”; the opening also has an awkward plural construction in “different type of activities.” Tense and verb forms are often faulty, as in “started from 65 to ended at 67” and “table tennis … started from 18 … and show a dramatic increase.” Several sentences lack clear grammatical connections between clauses, particularly the sentence beginning “In contrast,” which joins unrelated points. Practise accurate past-tense reporting and build sentences around a clear subject and verb, using conjunctions to show how each comparison relates to the data.
