Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify the main overall pattern that the film club remained the most popular activity, while amateur dramatics declined and table tennis rose substantially. You also include relevant comparisons, such as the equal figures for amateur dramatics and table tennis in 2010 and the similar martial arts and table tennis totals in 2015. However, some details are inaccurate or unclear: musical performances began in 2010, not 2005, and rose to about 18 by 2020 rather than 15. Film-club participation fluctuated slightly, from about 64 to 60 and back to 66, rather than staying at roughly the same level throughout. The overview also calls musical performances the lowest, although amateur dramatics ends lower. More precise selection and reporting of these features would strengthen the response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a brief overview and a longer paragraph describing the figures. The reader can follow the broad trends, and time markers such as “in 2010” and “in 2015” help locate comparisons. However, progression is weakened by sentence fragments beginning “Where,” including “Where Table tennis had 15 participants,” and by repeated or awkward linking, such as “also have same number” and “also same in 2015.” The final sentence revisits comparisons without a clear connection to the preceding account. Organise the body into clearer groups—for example, declining and rising activities—and use complete sentences with explicit references to the relevant series. This would make the progression more consistent and reduce the impression of loosely connected details.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of trend vocabulary, including “decreasing trends,” “increasing trend,” “fluctuate,” and “participants,” so the main information is generally understandable. There are also attempts at more formal reporting language, such as “illustrates” and “approximately.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural: “multiple participants for variety of activities,” “perform at social center,” and “lowest rate than others” do not express the intended comparisons clearly. Spelling errors such as “flactuate,” “begining,” “littile,” and “paricipants” also reduce control. Aim for precise chart language, such as “the number of participants,” “attendance rose,” and “the lowest figure,” and check spelling before submitting. This would make your vocabulary more accurate and natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, and the reader can usually understand the trends being described. Some time clauses and comparisons are also attempted, for example, “After 2005… as 20 in 2010, 10 in 2015.” However, sentence construction and control are inconsistent. “Where film club have highest number” is a fragment with incorrect subject–verb agreement, while “As film club had highest participants… also have same number” combines clauses without a complete, controlled structure. Articles and plurals are often missing or inconsistent, as in “at social center” and “all the activities perform.” Punctuation and capitalisation also interrupt flow, particularly after “2005.” Practise complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement, articles and tense consistency; this will make the range you attempt more reliable.
