Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify several relevant patterns, including the film club’s relative stability, the decline in amateur dramatics, and the rise in table tennis. However, the overview is unclear and includes a major misreading: film club participation stays around 60–66, not 75. The table-tennis figures are described as rising, but the account does not clearly report the important change from about 16 to 54 or its eventual position as the second-largest activity. The response also ends mid-sentence after “and”, leaving musical performances’ later trend unreported. To make the summary more complete, give a concise overview of the strongest contrasts and support it with accurate start and end figures.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response follows the chart’s activities in a recognisable order and uses signposts such as “Moreover”, “Nevertheless” and “Lastly”. This gives some organisation, but the progression is difficult to follow because the information is packed into one paragraph and several transitions do not clearly connect the comparisons. For example, “Next we have martial arts” shifts abruptly from the film club, while “Nevertheless” introduces table tennis without a clear contrast. The final sentence is unfinished, which disrupts the ending. Separate the overview from the detailed comparisons, group related trends, and use linking phrases only where they express a genuine relationship between points.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “participants”, “fluctuating”, “sharply dropped” and “rapid increase”, so the main trends are generally identifiable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “number of participants of different activities”, “fluctuation in their numerics for members” and “it is visibly assured”. Spelling errors, including “diffrent”, “conclued”, “continuosly” and “participents”, are noticeable and reduce clarity. Aim for precise chart language and check spelling carefully. For instance, describe a line as “remained stable” or “rose sharply”, and refer consistently to participant numbers rather than switching between “members” and “participants”.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt longer sentences and use clauses with “although”, “however” and “where”, but these structures are often faulty, and sentence boundaries are not consistently controlled. Examples include “Overall all activities has fluctuation”, where the subject–verb agreement and construction are incorrect, and “film club members remains stable as the are”, which contains agreement and pronoun errors. The phrase “from the year 2000 to 2020” is left as a fragment after the preceding sentence, and the final sentence is incomplete. These errors sometimes make relationships between ideas hard to understand. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with correctly formed clauses; also check agreement, articles, punctuation and complete sentence endings.
