Student answer (Band 5.0)
I am going to tell you the details about the grap that's represent the activivities chart of melbourne , Austrralia social center from 20000 to 2020 , First i am starting from musical performances because in this when we start we didn't have a single person in 2000 till 2005, but in 2010 social center did 10 performances and start increasing from that in future years till in 2020 social center did 20 performances. After that let me move toward most famous activity film club at the start of 2000 the club have approx 65 clubs but on the other handed they remain same.
Martial Art started forom 35 after that we saw decreased in 2005 but after than this activitaly mostly reamin same with very small difrrences.
Amateur dramatic started fropm 25 on 2000 and perform same at 2005 but after that we sae decline tilll 2020 just 10 amateur dramatic activities happend in social cente.
at the end i am going to talk about the best performace activity according to graph. in 2000 the table tenis activities are just 15 but after that its start increasing so in 20015 this activity went to 40 and in 2020 the reached at 55.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You cover all five activities and identify several important patterns, including the rise in table tennis and the decline in amateur dramatics. However, the response is only partly effective as a summary because it lacks a clear overview of the main trends and includes some inaccurate or unclear reporting. For example, film club participation did not simply “remain same”: it dipped from about 64 to 60 before rising to 66. Amateur dramatics fell to around 6, rather than 10, and table tennis reached about 36 in 2015, not 40. Musical performances are participants, not performances. A concise overview comparing the stable film club and martial arts figures with the contrasting trends would make the key features clearer.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The activities are presented in a generally understandable sequence, and signposts such as “After that” and “at the end” help the reader follow the response. However, the organisation is more like a spoken list than a clearly structured report. There is no distinct overview paragraph, and the opening, “I am going to tell you the details,” does not establish the main features. Some transitions are repetitive, while references such as “this activity” and “this” are not always precise. Grouping the activities by trend—for example, relatively stable figures, rising participation, and declining participation—would create clearer progression. Use a brief introduction, an overview, and focused detail paragraphs rather than narrating each activity in turn.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “increasing,” “decline,” and “differences,” so the reader can usually identify the trends you intend to describe. However, the range is limited and many word-choice, spelling, and collocation errors make the report less clear and less appropriate in style. Phrases such as “the club have approx 65 clubs,” “did 20 performances,” and “best performace activity” do not accurately express participant numbers or chart comparisons. Frequent misspellings, including “activivities,” “Austrralia,” and “tenis,” also reduce precision. Aim for standard chart language such as “the number of participants,” “stood at,” and “rose to,” and check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences, for example, “when we start we didn't have a single person in 2000 till 2005,” but these attempts often contain errors in tense, agreement, and sentence construction. The response shifts between present and past forms, as in “the club have” and “we saw decreased,” and several clauses are joined without clear punctuation. Articles and plural forms are also inconsistent, as in “the reached at 55.” These frequent errors sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow. Use past simple consistently to describe the historical data, and practise accurate sentence patterns such as “Participation rose from 16 in 2000 to 54 in 2020.” Short, controlled sentences would improve accuracy before adding more complex structures.
