Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify two important overall patterns: table tennis rises substantially, while amateur dramatics declines, and you mention all five activities. However, the account is only partial and several figures or descriptions do not match the graph. For example, table tennis reaches about 54 participants in 2020, not 60%, and musical performances rise from zero to about 18, rather than 30%. The graph shows participant numbers, not percentages or ratios. The description of film club and martial arts as fluctuating is too general, and the overview could also note that film club remains the most popular activity. The response is 124 words, below the 150-word minimum; develop the comparisons and report the main figures more accurately.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is a basic attempt to organise the response, beginning with an introduction and an overview before describing individual activities. This gives the reader some sense of the task’s structure. However, the progression is limited: the body combines several series in one paragraph without a clear order, and the repeated use of “ratio” makes relationships between the figures difficult to follow. “Although” at the start of a sentence is not connected to a contrasting clause, while “and” is used to join ideas that need clearer separation. Use distinct paragraphs for the overview and detailed comparisons, and group related trends—for example, the rising activities together and the declining one separately. More accurate linking and reference would make the account easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

Your vocabulary includes relevant terms such as “participants,” “increased,” “declined” and “fluctuated,” so the reader can recognise the general subject and some trends. However, the range is limited and several word choices are inaccurate or repetitive. “Ratio” and “percentage” are unsuitable because the graph reports numbers of participants; use “number” or “figure” instead. Phrases such as “these litterly increase” and “was reached” do not express the trends naturally, and “flim” is a spelling error. “Time period” is also repeated. Aim for precise trend language and accurate collocations, such as “rose to,” “fell steadily” and “remained stable,” while checking spelling and avoiding repeated wording.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, including a comparison beginning with “Although,” but the range is limited and errors are frequent enough to make some relationships unclear. For example, “amateur dramatics was declined” uses an incorrect passive form; write “amateur dramatics declined.” In “these percentage was reached 60%,” the demonstrative, agreement and verb construction are faulty. The sentence beginning “Although” is incomplete as written, and “in 2020 these ratio was reached 30%” also has agreement and sentence-structure problems. Capitalisation is inconsistent, including “overall” after the opening sentence and “In” within a sentence. Practise accurate past-tense trend sentences and check subject–verb agreement, articles and punctuation.
