Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You identify the main overall patterns: table tennis and musical performances rise, amateur dramatics declines, and film club and martial arts are broadly stable. The report also includes relevant figures, such as table tennis reaching about 55 and musical performances ending at 18. This gives the reader a clear account of the major changes. Some details, however, are inaccurate or unclear: musical performances first appear in 2010, not 2005, and amateur dramatics rises from about 26 to 28 by 2005 rather than by only one participant. The martial arts figure is also described as 38 in both endpoint years, although it is about 36 at each. More precise reporting and fuller coverage of the smaller fluctuations would strengthen an otherwise relevant summary.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and two paragraphs grouping the activities. This makes the main trends reasonably easy to follow, and contrasts such as “However” help signal changes. At times, though, connections between ideas are awkward or unclear. The overview’s “While, at activites started from year 2000” does not clearly express the intended comparison, and “Then for Film club” makes the final paragraph feel like a list rather than a developed comparison. Some sequencing is also confusing, particularly the description of amateur dramatics across 2000–2005. Use clearer topic sentences and link related series—for example, compare the stable film club and martial arts figures directly—to create smoother progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for describing trends, including “remained almost constant,” “significantly rose,” and “decline,” so the reader can understand the broad movements. However, word choice and spelling errors are noticeable and sometimes make the report less natural: “high rose,” “speedly dreased,” “slighthly,” and “Amateure” are examples. Some phrases are also imprecise, such as “it remains followed high trends,” which does not clearly describe the steady increase in musical performances. Aim for accurate, conventional collocations for charts, such as “increased steadily,” “fell sharply,” and “remained stable.” Check spelling carefully and avoid combining trend words in ways that obscure the meaning.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a mixture of sentence forms, including contrast clauses with “However” and time clauses such as “From 2005,” which helps convey changes over time. However, errors in sentence construction and verb forms occur across the response and sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. For example, “Table tennis and Musical performances seen high rose” lacks a correctly formed verb, while “it reached to 20” and “it remains followed” show problems with verb patterns and tense consistency. The final sentence, “38 in 2000 which remained constant in 2020,” is also incomplete as a sentence. Practise forming complete clauses, maintaining past tense for the historical data, and checking articles and punctuation when joining clauses.
