Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify several important patterns: film club remains the most popular activity, table tennis rises sharply, amateur dramatics declines, and musical performances begin at zero before gaining participants. These points give the response a relevant overview. However, some details are inaccurate or unclear: amateur dramatics falls to below 10 in 2020, not “in 2000,” and the claimed equal figures for table tennis and “amature performance” in 2010 are incorrect; table tennis was about 20, while amateur dramatics was also about 20, but these are different activities and the comparison is not clearly expressed. Film club and martial arts are described too generally, and the overview’s “sudden time” is vague. Select the key comparisons more precisely and report the final-year figures accurately.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, an overview, and paragraphs describing the activities. Sequencing expressions such as “Firstly,” “On the other hand,” and “Finally” help signal shifts between topics. However, progression is not consistently clear: the overview includes an unclear comparison, and the paragraph beginning “On the other hand” combines amateur dramatics and table tennis without always making their contrasting trends easy to follow. Some linking phrases are also awkward or inaccurate, such as “After a sudden time” and “Resersely.” Grouping the activities by trend—for example, stable or fluctuating series together, then rising and falling series—would make comparisons more logical. Use fewer formulaic transitions and make each paragraph’s focus explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “participants,” “fluctuate,” “remained stable,” “rose significantly,” and “demand.” This gives you a basic range for describing trends. However, spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural word choices are frequent enough to distract the reader: examples include “betwreen,” “Performence,” “Amature,” “attendent,” and “peoples.” Phrases such as “people attend in amateur dramatics” and “touch almost 20 persons” are not natural collocations for graph reporting. Prefer precise terms such as “the number of participants,” “stood at,” “increased,” and “fell.” Check spelling carefully and avoid switching between “people,” “persons,” and “members” when “participants” is the clearest term.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast with “whereas” and a time clause beginning “After.” However, grammatical errors occur frequently and sometimes make relationships or timing difficult to understand. For example, “participants in table tennis was increased” has incorrect agreement and verb construction, while “people attend in amateur dramatics was starts” combines incompatible verb forms. Tense control is also inconsistent in descriptions of past data, and several sentences lack clear grammatical structure, including “After a slightly increased in 2005, it fall dramatically.” Practise using past simple forms consistently and build sentences around a clear subject and verb, such as “The number rose” or “Participation fell.” Punctuation and capitalisation after sentence openings also need attention.
