Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the main broad patterns: table tennis and musical performances rise, amateur dramatics declines, and film club and martial arts fluctuate. Several figures are broadly accurate, including film club falling to about 60 before recovering and amateur dramatics dropping from roughly 25 to 5. However, the overview is imprecise: film club is relatively stable overall, while martial arts fluctuates within a narrow range. The table-tennis increase is also understated or inaccurate at the endpoint (about 54, not 57), and the musical-performance figure is about 18, not 15. The response contains 135 words, below the required 150, so the account is limited and some comparisons are underdeveloped. Add key intermediate values and clearer comparisons between activities.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, an overview and a paragraph of details, and the reader can follow the broad direction of the trends. The overview also helps signal which activities rise or fall. However, the final paragraph compresses several series into one long sentence, making comparisons difficult to follow; the phrase “while same sanario occure for martial art” does not clearly explain the pattern. Cohesive links such as “while” are used, but the relationships between the figures are not always explicit, and the account moves quickly from one activity to another. Separate the trends into clearer comparisons and use precise references to each activity to create a more consistent progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant task vocabulary, including “trend,” “fluctuation,” “participants,” “decrease” and “jumps,” so the main information is generally understandable. There is some attempt to vary wording when describing increases and declines. However, spelling and word-form errors are noticeable, for example “upword,” “prticipant,” “sanario,” “occure” and “particpitant.” Some expressions are also imprecise or unnatural, such as “made interesting” and “a huge jumps,” which reduce clarity and control. Choose standard chart-description collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise terms such as “rose sharply,” “remained relatively stable” and “fell steadily” would help describe the different patterns accurately without relying on vague wording.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, and the response includes a clear introductory sentence and an overview. However, grammatical errors are frequent enough to make some sentences awkward or difficult to process. For example, “The represented graph show” has subject–verb disagreement, while “the number of prticipant were 65 at 2000 which decrease” contains problems with agreement, tense and sentence construction. The phrase “it reach to 65 again next 10 years” also lacks accurate verb forms and a clear time expression. Use the past tense consistently for the completed period, check singular and plural agreement, and divide long sentences into shorter units. This will make your comparisons easier to understand.
