Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers the main stages of the recycling process, from collection to the manufacturing of new products. However, the description is somewhat disjointed and lacks a clear, logical flow. While the key features are identified, the explanation of the steps is occasionally confusing, such as the description of the washing and melting stages. The overview is present but could be more effectively integrated to highlight the cyclical nature of the process. To improve, ensure that each step follows a clear chronological order and that the transition between the collection, processing, and manufacturing phases is more distinct and accurate according to the provided diagram.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the internal structure is weak. The use of cohesive devices is limited and often mechanical or misused, such as the repetitive use of 'and than' and 'firstly/secondly' which does not always align with the logical progression of the process. Referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the sequence of events. The punctuation is inconsistent, which further disrupts the flow of information. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'subsequently', 'following this', 'once') and ensure that each sentence logically connects to the next to create a smoother narrative.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate to describe the process, but there are frequent errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'dastabin', 'cantarne', 'peaces', and 'envirement'. These errors occasionally impede the clarity of the description. The range of vocabulary is limited, relying on basic terms rather than more precise, process-oriented language. To reach a higher band, you should focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to industrial processes (e.g., 'shredded', 'granulated', 'extruded') and pay closer attention to the correct spelling and usage of common technical terms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'the used plastic bottle are'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'start the process recycling center'), and missing articles or prepositions. Complex sentence attempts are often faulty, leading to confusion. Punctuation is also problematic, with erratic capitalization and spacing. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring subject-verb agreement, and practicing the correct use of articles. Reducing the number of run-on sentences by using appropriate conjunctions or full stops will significantly improve the readability of your writing.
