Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response attempts to describe the process of recycling plastic bottles, outlining the main stages from discarding the bottle to producing end products. However, the information is presented with noticeable gaps and lacks a fully developed overview. While the writer attempts to summarise the diagram, the outline of steps remains limited and under-developed. Sentences such as 'Overall, this process there are included several steps' fail to provide a clear, concise summary of the overall trends or stages in the cycle. Certain transitions in the process, such as the exact sequence of washing, pellet production, and raw material formation, are confused and lack clarity, reflecting only a partial address of the prompt requirements.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The writing demonstrates some basic organisation, dividing the response into an introduction, an overview, and a main body paragraph. However, there is no clear overall progression, and the logical flow is frequently disrupted by inaccurate or inadequate cohesive devices. For instance, the transition 'However, second steps' is confusing and mismanaged. Furthermore, referencing is often unclear, with pronouns and connecting words failing to link ideas smoothly. The paragraphing structure is also basic, and the heavy reliance on repetitive conjunctions and run-on sentences ('and than is made small pieces is heated... and they are made...') creates a mechanical and disjointed reading experience.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is limited and inadequate for a precise technical description. There is a heavy reliance on basic, repetitive terms such as 'process', 'bottles', 'steps', and 'materials'. Numerous lexical errors occur throughout the text, including severe spelling mistakes ('diagrame', 'illustartes', 'hoe', 'platic', 'futhermore', 'boottle', 'crushiing', 'maschine', 'conseqeuentally', 'matrials') and incorrect word forms or collocations ('producting plastics pellets', 'making pencil shirt'). These frequent errors and the lack of a sufficient vocabulary range cause significant difficulty for the reader and impede clear communication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences that often feature faulty syntax. Attempts at complex sentences are consistently marred by frequent errors in verb forms, tense consistency, prepositions, and article usage. Examples of grammatical breakdown include 'the process hoe to recycling the platic bottles', 'first steps start at dustbin', and 'people throw the bottles in dustbin.' Additionally, run-on clauses linked improperly with 'and' are pervasive throughout the body paragraph. These frequent, dense errors in grammar and punctuation cause constant difficulty for the reader in parsing the intended meaning.
